Very happy.   :)  Great time to be a sports fan (for me).  My Lakers are on a roll and my Niners will be better.  Love the fact Warner retired.  I think the Niners have a great shot to win the NFC West and finally get back in the playoffs.

i really like what the Niners have done.  Serious head coach, offense with Smith, Crabtree, Gore and Davis will be very good....and Willis is a beast on defense.  Fun team to watch.

I gotta give it to crabtree he made a dent last year as a rookie, davis was a bad ass and gore is still hanging in there.

Did he bring his fruity little white gloves?   ;D
It's so cool to see how well Davis reacted to the tough love that Singletary gave him.  I think a lot more players would react well to it than what people think.  The key is that as long as they really respect the coach who gives it....look at the success of guys like Ditka, Parcell, etc....

and I agree I hate to see these idiots running around like chickens with their heads cut off its nice to see a coach like singeltary who are to far and few between.

The Ravens' rookies are off to a flying start. ::) 2nd round pick Sergio Kindle falls down drunk(allegedly) down 2 flights of stairs. The guy has a fractured skull and likely will miss the season.(how can you wear a helmet and hit somebody with a healing fractured skull??)

Our other 2nd rounder, Terrance Cody fails his conditioning test and can't practice. Even though he passed it the second time, he showed up to camp heavier. The guy has got to keep his weight under control or he'll be useless to the defense this season.

I'm pretty worried about the start of our season.  :-\ Secondary is banged up. Two cornerbacks coming off serious knee injuries. Ed Reed likely to miss first 6 games of the season. Our offense better be prolific as hell. We're going to need to average at least 24 points a game on offense this year.

Wow....Ravens secondary just took another big hit. Starting corner Dominique Foxworth is out for the year. Blew his ACL without being touched today in training camp.

This is the year the Ravens' offense needs to take a big step up. Our defense past the front seven will be shaky at best.

Ozzie Newsome needs to make a trade to get Nnamdi Asomugha out of Oakland. We need some serious help in the secondary. :-[

Agree.  Solid draft too (on paper).  Singletary is doing a great job.  I'm pretty optimistic about this season.

Tony - Carr is the backup.  Good signing IMO.

I know beach I would bet money that he ends up starting a couple games this year though  ;) smith is inconsistant at best getting better but still not convinced he will be able to keep his starting position.

I'm not entirely sold on Smith either.  He'll have a nice supporting cast this year and has a stable coaching staff, so there should be no excuses.

Still one of the league's best at 35 years old. Old or not, he played in all 16 games for the second straight year and made the pro bowl. He can still ball.

Sure he's becoming a liability in pass coverage but he will continue to play effectively on 1st and 2nd downs even into his late 30's. Ray Lewis is a rare kind of player. Not many like his stock in the NFL.

How many other players in the NFL are still starting with 15 years experience? And the team doesn't put him out there out of charity to his legacy. The NFL is a business and it's about winning. The day he can't play with the level of effectiveness that's needed will be the day he retires or is benched. If the latter happens, Ray will step down himself because he will not sacrifice helping the team win to prove a point that he still should be playing.

49ers have a solid team. If Gore can stay healthy they can do some damage. Crabtree is going to be a monster once you guys get a decent QB to throw him the ball.

Defensively, Patrick Willis has the talent to be defensive player of the year. That dude hits like a truck and makes all kinds of plays. Reminds me of another #52 on the Ravens when he was Patrick's age. ;)

This should be the year that the 49ers win that division, as weak as it's become the past two seasons. 10 wins should be enough.

A great player no doubt, I'm sure his speed has slowed at this point so help as you say will be needed on pass coverage....
