Because wind, solar electric power will cost two to three times as much as conventional power plants; 30 cents a kilowatt hour,...optimistically

Actually they don't...but since the rights to these power sources are owned by the petrochemical industry, they will tell you anything to keep a far cheaper energy source from coming into being and reducing their profits.
