right now it's white walls with grey carpet and no furniture - basically a blank canvas

I was thinking black furniture with grey walls and a darker hardwood, but that leaves the question of the ceiling - leave it white or go darker

on the other hand, black walls with white furniture would be pretty sharp



I've never really cared about this stuff (I live in baracks during the week and a good chunk of the year out in the field) but I don't want to waste this opportunity to make the most out of a fresh space

Dark ceiling will make the room look smaller. You can only pull that off if the place is really big. It's stylish but do you really think you'll like it day in day out?

We've been trying to get the outside of our house remodeled for about 2 years but the unlike a regular city approval we have to through the county PLUS the coastal commission for plan approval.

Well if your a true bodybuilder you will get a mittor on the ceiling above the bed....not so you and your partner can watch while you have sex....the mirror is so you can look at yourself even when your sleeping.

I think I'd be fine with it day in and day out especially since I wouldn't be there for long periods of time (mostly week-ends and holidays)

Only thing with white is maintaining it clean all the time.
But it's good; sunny weather, lokks fabulous, rainy weather, looks less depressing than outside.
I like white with a dark wooden floor also though.
