Unless this is an investment thingy, and that would be a mechanical in the the 25-50k range, paying that much for bling is stupid. You know that Coach. WTF!  ::)

I agree with you paying 3-5K for watch does really make much sense. It won't appreciate in value and a couple of years you will find it on ebay for $550. In the 3-5k you are paying buying entry level crap and making the retailer happy since the watch is marked up 60%

buy a watch for $300, take the remaining 4k+ and take a nice trip with the wife to Spain.

Get a Rolex if you want to wear what anyone with 5k to spend wears. Otherwise, try these...

Bell&Ross are so sweet!!

I was debating between that and a Graham.  Have to go with the Graham though.  they are so nice and chunky.

Get both! You're loaded...

That Graham is pretty hot. If I had Xfactor fundage, I'd have these. Last one (red) if I had Arnold money.

Timex Ironman, represent! So, when the ump for the tourney says 'no watches or jewelery,' I just toss it over the fence and retake my stance. Fark. Bunch of pussies.

In that price range nothing will hold its value better than a Rolex because they appreciate. After that (for a little more) I'd say Panarai and probably Breitling. Omega's are just Rolex wannabes. :)

I like that. Whats the price range of it? If I can fine something I REALLY like I'd be willing to pay more for it. Just have to justify it with my wife ;D

What idiot spends over $100 on a watch?  Unless you're trying to impress others with your money management skills.

Well I had one of these Breitlings given to me as a present from my ex.  I got to pick it out.  But, my big mouth got her pissed and I never got it.  So lesson learned is shut up till after your birthday.  So I still have my Casio Pathfinder.  My Seiko 600m dive watch was my favorite

I just got this a few weeks ago, its a rep though unlike the genuine models I posted up top of my wife and I

No...not for my for my "boyfriend" you sick bastards, for me. B-day is coming up and I'm buying myself a watch. Client suggested I get what he has a 'Roger "Dubois Excaliber Trubillion", after looking it up I've decided I'm not going to mortgage my house and have my wife leave me ::) So I want something a little more practical. Any suggestions?

You must have a half million in the bank to blow 5 grand on a watch.
Congratulations.

I know people with much more, who wear a $20 watch.  Some have cash, but don't care about foolish things like an overpriced watch.
It's like the guy who buys a Jaguar, instead of a less expensive car that goes just as fast.
It's status symbol garbage.
That's the point here.

Quoted for the truth.

Just hit up a dealer, and try on some. If you want to do research, try http://www.watchuseek.com/site/forums.htm

If you want to go iconic style watches for that price, rolex submariner, omega speedmaster, maybe breitling navitimer and omega planet ocean.

If you want to go something different, look at Sinn, Panerai, glashuette. If your budget stretches, or prepared to go second hand IWC.

Find what you like, and what looks good and don't worry about what others think
