Ever notice that every few yrs a rapper or producer/rapper comes along and has a breakout yr, and then they flame out. A few yrs ago it was Lil Wayne, this past yr it's been Drake. It's like that for a reason...

There is still plenty of good hip hop music out there but most of it is underground. We need to consider rap and hip hop 2 different genres of music. Real hip hop music displays originality, sharp word play, complex rhyme schemes, lyrical content that delivers a message or tells a story. Rap music on the other hand is pretty much nursery school style schemes with no message or depth to the lyrics over a canned beat. They all usually follow the same formula of bitches, money, hos, cars, rims, dress, and maybe tie it into some new dance step.
