A Video About the Mosque that Actually Makes Sense

I know a 7 min video is a stretch for a lot of you when you have the attention span of a 4yr old but try, lets pretend for 7 min that it's grownup time.

This guy makes some very basic yet important points that should be considered. Even if you're a "Yes Mosque" person how you cannot at least consider these things is beyond me.

The first part of the video, the info is a little slow and he talks about some photos that were passed around via email shortly after 9/11 most are familiar with but it lays the foundation for what he'll get into and if you fast-forward you'll miss a lot of the main point.

Their intentions couldn't be good, if they were they would have backed off when they saw that people weren't comfortable with it.

Yes, it's basically an Islamic community center.

What would make so much more sense, they say it's to help ease the tension, to bring unity, etc, if they wanted that, they would use this money to help reconstruct the twin towers or give back to the community in another way. Building a giant Mosque in a city that already has a butt load makes no sense whatsoever unless it's for reasons they're not admitting.

I almost didn't watch because you criticized my internet ADD.   

Great clip.  He's right on the money.  They are not building this mosque to honor 911 victims.  Absurd.

True.  Although I will say in my own defense that sometimes you don't need to watch a clip or read an article to understand an issue.  Some are just so darn stupid (e.g., 911 CT nuts), that watching some clip will not add a thing.

Seriously are you really going to split hairs? Doesn't matter if it was directly on the site, 2ft away from the site, 2 blockd from the site or 2 miles aways. Coach, with all due respect, I think the particulars do matter. To say "build a mosque on ground zero" or "build on the 9/11 site" is being intellectually dishonest. I think it is painting or attempting to paint an inaccurate picture to inflame the issue . For ME.. facts do matter. If it is on the site I say no, thats not appropriate, if it is 10 miles away I don't have issue with it. So inspite of my incredibly insane desire to just jump the hell all over the muslims on this, I can't get past the fact it does matter. I am sorry you feel my personal opinion is foolish and I have no common sense, but  if it is 2 blocks away and out of sight of the site, then WTH? We could probably focus all this sudden caring about ground zero on getting some things done with the millions earmarked for rebuilding.
