Everthing in life is a choice whether you're straight or not. To say otherwise is to belive that that there are forces out there greater than your free will. Maybe that's good enough for the religious and beta males in society...but not for real men.

That is true, but only in regards to your actions, not your emotions or your feelings (which are the end result of your value judgement system).
So you have the choice of not acting upon your emotions / cravings, but not the choice of how an external influence (be it a person or a situation or a product or whatever) affects the way you feel about it. If you're straight, then you don't choose whether or not you are attracted to someone of the opposite sex that you think is attractive, but you you can choose whether or not to act upon it, or even to acknowledge it to yourself.
I'd say homosexuality is definitely biological in origin for some percentage of the gay population. But there are also those who probably belong to that group triggered solely by external influences.
It's no different than eating meat as opposed to being a vegetarian - you don't choose whether you like the taste of meat or not, but you can choose to eat it or not. Some people naturally like the taste of meat, others don't, while others get an acquired taste for it just like some others develop a distaste for it over time and so on.
