I hear you, if this was in Obama's America...where Arizona gets sued by the justice dept for trying to protect it's borders and all the other liberal insanity, this guy would probably be able to sue the old man for "assault." The lefties would whine about this poor underpriviledged guy (if he was black or an illegal alien..it would be a homerun!) that had to resort to burglary to get by...and this old capitalist...instead of sharing his wealth in a communal fashion, resorted to violence. And since he was a trained fighter, his hands are considered deadly weapons. In fact I bet the liberals would like to see the old guy go to jail for the rest of his life.

UK is probably the biggest politically correct cesspool in the world.  It's even worse than Canada or the USA and that's saying a LOT.  There was someone on a university radio program in my city saying that three-strikes laws target "marginalized groups".  Yes, marginalized groups who commit violent assault or murder three times.

Well ya, you can't just assault people that aren't threatening you. The story probably went like -- Some kid was friend of a friend of his daughters and came to her party. Some people there, possibly including his daughter wanted some weed. The dad found out the kid had weed and flipped out, assaulting him.
