I guess the building being hit by the landing gear of the planes doesnt count?

Do you have a problem with the other mosque that was there - since before the WTC was even built - which was 4 blocks from the site (not 10 blocks like this one is)  yes or no?

Thats irrelvent.  The existing mosque is not a 15 story victory tower with dubious financing an being founded by an Imam who refuses to call Hamas a terrorist organization.

Then this has nothing to do with religion correct?  Ok, if thats the case, they are not being denied anything if they are forced to move it.

There was Greek Orthodox Church that was the only place of worship that was taken out at the site of 9/11. They were told it would be rebuilt and now it's being blocked but instead they're okaying the mosque?? Someone needs to answer to this.

You are right, but thats not the point Olbermann was making. He thinks any opposition to it is right wing insanity,as usual, and ,as usual,he is wrong.

Now,if this other guy builds a homosexual bar that caters to muslims right next door,I dont want to hear a peep from the left in opposition to it.

Obviously you are ignorant of how they cleaned up Times Square in the 1990's.

irrelevant?  So you're okay with the existing mosque 4 blocks from ground zero, or you're against it?  Which is it?

240 - something seriously wrong happened to you in the last few months.  I don't know what it is or was, but your level of baseness, ignorance, and denseness, has grown to levels I am seriously troubled by.  I think as your hero fails so miserably as we all said he would your political views are tracking said fall.  Its really sad to see and I dont think you even realize just how your posts have deteroriated so badly along with the misfortunes of Obama.

But as to your post, the existence of the mosque that was there shows clearly the point everyone is trying to make, that this 15 story disgrace is not being done to serve religious purposes of muslims not currently served by existing mosques, but a political statement of victory over america by foregin sources of cash we still dont know.

i was just curious if you had a problem with that religion, or just that one group of people.  I'm all for keeping their asses out if they're shady, but I would hate a situation where ANY ONE religion wasn't allowed to practice "within X amount of feet" because it hurt ppl's feelings.

as for me, I stopped watching cable news!

From the plans I have seen of this thing,  its very provocative and will stand out immensly.

If I were this imam, and truly seeking a bridge building situation, I would come out and say I understood the concerns of the families and would move it.  He would gain a ton of respect from all quarters on this.

There were ppl saying "no mosques".

That's bullshit.  Say "no secretive groups with hidden finances who have said this or that!"

Don't say "We don't want this religion practiced X blocks from WTC."

That's all I'm saying.

Stop with the Straw man bs.  no one said anything of the sort.  This proposed plan is a massive billboard for islam solelly intended as a victory tower over the USA at WTC.

Like I said, I live here, and there is no muslim constituency for this thing in the area, no muslims currently not already served by other mosques in the area, etc.  its being done solelly to piss people off and provoke the families of the dea.

Yes they have a techincal legal right to be scumbag savages and barbarians, which I consider them to be, but that does not mean that people opposing this dont have an equal right o be vocal in their disdain for this mess.

Top Social Conservative: 'No More Mosques, Period'

Bryan Fischer, the "Director of Issues Analysis" for the American Family Association, wrote a blog post yesterday on the AFA's site arguing that the United States should have "no more mosques, period."

"This is for one simple reason," he writes. "Each Islamic mosque is dedicated to the overthrow of the American government."

Fischer, who is scheduled to speak at the Value Voters Summit in September alongside Michele Bachmann, Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Mitch McConnell, and a host of other Republican politicians, writes that every mosque "is a potential jihadist recruitment and training center

Who ever heard of this clown before?

He's a pretty big conservative voice-
http://action.afa.net/detail.aspx?id=2147486648

He's been invited to speak with palin, romney, and other repub top names next month.  He's a fairly big "somebody" in the far-right.  They don't put "nobodies" on the speaking bill with those top national names.

Excellent video clip. Sad aspect of all of this is americans don't listen to logic or reason, but operate on emotion, which are easily stirred by the slightest whim. Everyone needs to listen to this Olberman piece again and again and think about what they are doing and saying...

3 you are still making wild eyed claims based upon nothing more than discrimination and with you being about 20 miles away from the mosque  it makes no sense for you to even be involved in the matter. So far as being concerned about a building supposedly struck by landing gear? why be concerned now...you nor anyone else was concerned about the building for the past nine years... why now?

In regards to the plans of the mosque...how were you privy to these "plans" when no one else was or is? and how does or will a building five or six blocks away "standout"?

So far as you being the Imam and moving the community center because of what people foolishly think.... consider that the Imam has a backbone and will not cower to such things... and rightfully so.
