'stay present' is the advice given by all the people who have things truly figured out.

read 'the power of now'.   most people ignore the present moment. they worry and stress about the future ( one of many possible futures, and usually not the real one)  and dwell on the past (mistakes, missed opportunities, being cheated or decieved).  this brain activity is a function of the 'ego', and it's purpose is to keep us from enjoying what we are doing right now.

we all do. but the more aware of it you become and the more often you can 'return to present' the easier it becomes every time you do it. mind you, there is a huge difference between dealing with something from your past, and just reliving it and dwelling on it.
