Wyclef Jean, who appears ready to announce his candidacy for Haiti’s presidency, owes the Internal Revenue Service more than $2.1 million.
In May, the IRS filed a $724,332 tax lien against Jean. Last July, the agency filed a $599,167 lien against the performer. And a $792,269 lien was lodged against Jean in July 2007. The liens cover taxes due on Jean’s individual 1040 returns for 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Paul Hogan, the star of the Crocodile Dundee films was essentially put under "country arrest."
Australian officials aren't letting Hogan beyond the country's borders until he pays taxes that the Australian Tax Office says he owes on $38 million Australian dollars ($34 million in U.S. currency) in undisclosed income. The exact tax bill has not been disclosed.
Hogan is alleged to have used offshore bank accounts to conceal earnings.

The IRS filed two liens against boxer
Julio Cesar Chavez on August 10, 2009 in Maricopa County, Az. The first is for $12,404,422.54 for taxes owed from 1993 through 1998. The second lien is for $366,262.21 for taxes related to 1999 income.
Richard Hatch, the first winner of the reality TV show 'Survivor, neglected to pay taxes on his $1 million grand prize.

The most ironic is probably someone you never heard of. His name is
Joseph Nunan. He was the
IRS commissioner from 1944-47.
In 1952, he was busted for evading taxes. It turned out that Nunan had won a $1,800 bet that Harry Truman would win the presidential election but failed to report his winnings to the IRS.
