Really? Do you remember the first UFC event? Royce was the smallest and skinniest but defeated everybody. How about boxing? Is that multi-dimensional? MMA has evolved considerably but if you don't have some knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu and ground fighting you have no chance.
Jiu-Jitsu evolved in Brasil by the Gracies in the street and Vale Tude (anything goes) matches where there were no gloves, no weight classes and the referees job was to keep the fighters from falling out of the ring, protect them from the fans, and raise the hands of the winner.
LOL @ "nobody fights." When they came to America they were the ONLY ones doing real fighting.
This was 35 years ago though they were going on since the 1950s. It's not pretty but real fighting is not.
