With the Win/var I assume you were cutting ? what sort of diet do you think works best for you bro ? are you a carb cycler ?
hey buddy.
i've done about every diet there is, i liked keto for fat loss, but i found it left me really lethargic and flat. definitely more a diet suited to bringing a guy into a show who is over weight rather than someone who is lean enough and has fresh enough receptors to grow into a show. keto is useful, but it depends on what kind of shape and how much bf you are holding to begin with.
carb cycling is a good choice for me personally.
what i did this last time was something different- i didnt have a set meal plan- i always made sure i took in 350 grams of protein a day or better. i got my body accustomed to training in a fasted state and withheld solid foods (and shakes for about an hour post training) and used bcaa's pre, during and post training to prevent catabolism. when i did eat i made a mental note of what it was i was eating, and tried to keep my calories between 2000-and 2500 a day (i need to go this low- im an natural endo/meso- my metabolism crawls) most guys my size can cut on 3500-4000 a day. i cant. what else...oh and then every 3-4 days or so i'd have a huge feed of whatever the fuck i wanted a few hours before bed. i did it right before bed as any glycogen would go to filling me out instead of getting burned of in a waking state. the next morning my workouts would be amazing.
this idea worked well to get me down to what i'd say was a true 7-8%.which is pretty fucking lean. most guys who say they are 8% are rally 10 or better. in order to get lower i'd have to take a more traditional approach, knowing to the caloire what im taking and timing my carbs properly.
i found this latest way a lot more enjoyable way of dieting. i ate when i was hungry, and ate bad shit when i felt i needed it. its a pretty instinctive way of doing it but it worked as after a while your body will tell you what it needs if you listen to it.
