Tony took a HUGE pay cut from what he made boxing.  He defintiely wasn't worth what he put into the fight.  But he did draw an audience no matter what.

Toney couldn't get a boxing fight so he turned to the UFC.

ridiculous pay rates for everyone.

dana lines his pockets with gold, and the fighters all make chump change.  got to love monopolies.

You mean, instead of spending millions on marketing to grow the sport, the UFC should spend millions on fighter salaries so that they can go bankrupt like Affliction, EliteCX, IFL, etc. ?

The fighters make more money today, than before Dana got involved.  And, anyone that is in the UFC, considers themselves lucky to be there.  For those that don't, there is always Dream or Strikeforce...but wait, they don't pay that much money either :-\

The only people who would defend those salaries are those with vested interests in the UFC. Talk about getting away with murder. $10k to lay it all on the line. Meanwhile, the UFC continues to suck millions out of people shelling out $45 or whatever you pay every 2-3 weeks for a card.  ::)

That's right.  It's called smart business.  And, the result is that we get a growing sport that provides more opportunities for fighters including more exposure.  That exposure translates to big endorsement dollars.  Dan Henderson was getting over $50,000 per fight just to show his sponsor's logo in post fight interviews.  Now that he is in StrikeForce, he get $2,500 from the same sponsor.

None of that would be possible if the money being generated was wasted on the fighters.  For proof, look no further than all of the bankrupt organizations or the few that are hanging by a thread.

Honestly, no.. I've ordered 2 UFC events in the last 4-5 years..usually go out to a bar with friends or we order at a friends house, if it's a really shitty card (like half of them) I just stream it to one of my machines or laptop

I am going to Vegas w my wife soon so we will probably go to the next UFC (if it's in Vegas)
