Would they have been more welcomed if they were carrying Grapefruits?.

Without question...Wayne hiring the Village People one year was a complete disaster...they literaly got booed off the stage.
LOL, I forgot about that fiasco.
Maybe they could get ol' Buzz Aldrin to do his Dancing with the stars routine as guest post this yr?

This one show in La had former masters champ , Errol Brousard roller blade around the stage and hit plastic hockey pucks out to the crowd.

Not really Olympia questions, but...

1. Make the pros compete more often throughout the year. Maybe a 3 contest minimum?
2. Make the pros confirm their availability for a show at least 6 weeks out. No more jumping in or pulling out at the last minute which creates a lot of uncertainty and makes life difficult for the promoter.

The Promoter makes all the money so why not run at risk.

They don't even post the scores...nothing is going to change.
I say give up and enjoy the show for what it is

The Village People was a miscalculated mistake by Wayne - and probably one of the low points of the Olympia.   Not many people liked it at all, and I remember backstage - the group irked that they wouldnt be let back out there to do another song.

I enjoy the Olympia as it is right now, although I liked it more when, during the evening rounds, the bodybuilders get to use props.  Who can't forget Ronnie coming down the aisle in the Moses costume.

Was it the 2001 Olympia where King did his space helemt robot routine?
That scene alone should be the basis to ban all props from a BB stage.
Ronnie as Moses 'eh.
How about Lee Priest dressed as an Oompa Loompa posing to the Willy Wonka movie sound track?

I don't have a problem with those guys putting a little entertainment than just posing. as long as it doesn't get out of hand, I'm fine with it. I miss Vince Taylor. he was the best entertainner on stage In my Opinion

Agreed...which is why it was abolished.  Nothing remotely good about prop use. We have enough issues to contend with, certainly dont need more.

Chick, in your opinion when do you think was the best era of posing? I would say 80's early 90's. Back in the Labrada, Haney era.

Was it DeMilia who organized for the Kenny Jones / Dayana Cadeau sleazy posing in the NOC one year, where they got a little kid to come on stage during Jones' posing routine as a stab at Michael Jackson? DC was dressed as a stripper :-X

That was in very poor taste and got booed big time as well.

;D  So what you're saying is actually the reverse of my observation?  The village people simply weren't gay enough for the crowd?

The '04 NOC was the worst "entertainment" at any bodybuilding show ever.  Even worse than the Village People.  It was equivalent to a grade school play with a cast of Denise Masino, Dayana Cadeau, Kenny Jones, Rodney St. Cloud, & Wayne D's son.  Dayana did most of the talking with English as her second language.  Ron still has the photos in the picture section....no words needed from there.  Since that was Wayne's last show, I think he wanted to embarrass the IFBB with this little sketch.
