Let's Play the "What If Game"
« on: September 05, 2010, 02:43:41 AM »
It's election day 2012, as every presidential elections you have two real options. You may not love either option, you may not even like either option but it's what you're stuck with. In your two options, there are several things that will in-fact happen depending upon which option wins, so examine the facts of each before deciding.

Again, we're obviously playing the "What If Game" I realize that, this is simply more curiosity than anything else.

Option 1: Obama/Biden

Option 2: Beck/Palin

Things that will happen: Obama/Biden

*The Health Care Bill will go into full effect and expanded greatly, possibly to the fullest degree
*A Cap & Trade system will be put into effect
*Stimulus programs will continue, obviously meaning debt will go up due to stimulus
*A VAT Tax will be put into effect...all Bush Tax cuts are now long gone
*Amnesty will be granted to all illegals
*Alliance with Israel crippled
*More Oversight Czars are appointed
*The U.S. will continue to apologize to the world for being the U.S.

Things that will happen: Beck/Palin

*The Health Care Bill will be repealed and insurance reform will take it's place
*No Cap & Trade, production will follow a natural path
*No Stimulus, therefore less debt
*A Flat Tax will be put into effect
*Illegals will be deported and border security enforced
*Alliance with Israel strengthened
*Oversight Czars are done away with
*The U.S. will be hated because we apologize to know one for anything

These are your choices, choose wisely!

I'd choose the latter, obviously, but I'd be hoping Palin would be assassinated and replaced by Ron Paul.

I like toxie's idea of crapping in the polling booth instead of voting.  nationwide.  Millions of turds instead of punched ballots.  maybe even wipe your ass with the ballot and put it in the box.

They can barely get enough volunteers to manage the polling stations, so it's not like they'll have cops onhand to arrest every single person for public defecation.  And even if you do take the hit, it's a small misdemeanor.

Obama would get 10 million votes, Palin would get 8 million votes, and "I think I'd rather shit in here than choose one of these turds" gets 80 million votes.  Viva la turd!

I wouldn't want Beck as president because he's too much of a drama queen.  He has temperament issues.  Not the person I want making decisions as CIC.

That said, I'd even take him over Obama.

I would think that he would be able to control his temperament, could be wrong. That job vs. what he does now would create a very different environment than what we're used to seeing him in.

Perhaps, but you can't really change who you are.  That's part of the reason I didn't vote for Obama.  He showed an inability to admit mistakes (a leadership flaw).  That kind of flaw doesn't improve just because he is surrounded by good advisers.  It's part of his fabric.

That's true  but you sure wouldn't have that with Beck, you'd actually have real transparency

Arnold, I like your posts so far and I agree with a lot of what you say-- but please be serious.

I think I would rather commit suicide than cast a vote for either of those choices.

I hate Beck almost as much as I hate Obama ( because of his personality, not his politics) and Palin versus Biden is a wash imo.

Palin only works with an experienced and acomplished running mate as President. Glenn Beck is good at what he does, but he is about as qualified to be President as Obama is.

I'm not implying there's going to be a Beck/Palin ticket, just playing the "What If" game. Thought it wold be a good imaginary scenario to play out.
