In the late 1940s on through the early 1960s a physique like Steve Reeves was the choice of more than a few women, especially so after "Hercules" debuted on the screen. Early Bob Paris was also popular with the girls, but as with Reeves before him, Paris' physique coupled with his above average good looks is not something everyone has.
I know of zero women that would date anything remotely like a current bodybuilding champion, but this doesn't mean that the current champs do not get dates with or marry women. What is does mean is that I do not know any women that wish to be seen with a walking refrigerator/fire plug. They do not desire to date a man that is bigger around than he is tall.
Other than that, being what is known as "financially hung" is what a great many very beautiful women seem to care about.
How else did the game of , "How to spot the rich guy" come to be?
