« on: September 10, 2010, 07:18:16 PM »
Lets say  I am taking in 2300 calories a day

then lets say I do cardio and the machine says I burned 500 calories

does that allow me to take in 2800 calories a day then?

I have no fuking clue about this stuff

Take your weight, multiply it by 6.3, Take your height, multiply it by 12.9, Take your age, multiply it by 6.8...then add it all together.  This will give you your BMR

Then take that BMR and multiply it depending on your activity.

Lazy Fuck = 20%
Semi Active = 30%
Super Active (Animal) = 60%

That will give you the amount of calories you can take in and maintain your body weight.  From there you'll can adjust the caloric intake each day depending on what you do.  If you reduce that amount by 500 calories a day, you'll lose about 1 pound a week

Im going to completely assume you are kidding about this

1625 + 928.8 + 299.2 x 30% = like 850 or so  minus 500 = 350

Im not even gonna comment on this--its too embarrassing for you

weight 258
height 72 inches
age 44

this easyy just do this;

1 find your basel metobolic rate (google a calculator), this is the amount of energy (with no activity) your body needs to maintain its exact same weight

2 eat way more than this (google hor much) to gain weight

3 eat less or the same as your basel metobolic rate to lose weight

i lost 30 pounds doingthis and not i look like the guy from the old spice commercial

just take your weight *13, then cut/adjust every week (after the 2nd week) until your losing a solid 2 lbs a week.

Just eat a shitload of clean food, walk for 45 minutes most mornings, and kick the shit outta the weights 4-5 days a week.

dont worry about how many calories the machine tells you that you have burned. your diet in a calorie deficit should provide the fat loss. cardio's value is not just in x calories burned in a session, but in that it elevates your metabolism as well.

Anytime I'm trying to drop a few pounds I keep it simple.
Cut way down on starchy carbs. Maybe 1-2 servings every third day. I compensate by eating a lot more leafy greens, various veggies and fruits.

Up my cardio and increase meal frequency. (Walking on the treadmill or even elliptical is not cardio)
Cardio is anything that makes you sweat through your shirt and makes you out of breath.
Who the fucck likes to walk on the treadmill for an hour a day? Seriously, I'd rather kill myself. Elliptical is bullshit too...how many fricking fat chicks do you see at the gym that look like they can do the elliptical for hours but still look obese?

It's not rocket science...but then again I've never been sub 10% bf so what do I know. (I'm a permabulker)
