Have household goods been getting more expensive in the united states recently?

I haven't visited there for a few years.

also, why would you worry anyways... law enforcement = job security.  you got nothing to sweat friend.

bros like myself... to say it has been a shitstorm would be an understatement.  white collar advertisement sector has been brutalized by the current economic conditions, and the whole situation has made my life a lot more difficult.  more work, for less pay.  and the shit thing is, there is really no end in sight.  this is just how it is going to be for the foreseeable future.

bench did have a point though, there is absolutely nothing that can be done other than weather the storm.  I just regret not preparing in the first place for such an unforeseen disaster.

the thing about law enforcement is if they have budget cuts....they just go into a hiring freeze....they dont let people go...i just do LE because i want too..its secondary income..

i havent even seen a drop off in my main  source of income.....my mom owns 4 or 5 business's and they are all doing great.....basically if you were doing good before this...you will be alright....if you were already struggling...your going to struggle a little more..

I wish it were the simple, but there are so many dynamics to take into account depending on your industry.  that is great that your family's businesses are doing well in these tough times, but while certain industries thrive, others suffer.

for example my industry. the best way  I could sum things up would be say think 'mad men' (the tv show) meets the modern age and the internet.  you move people to these companies via advertisement and ingenuity.  however, now that these companies are so budget conscious.. they operate with a budget a fraction of their former size.  they may even get so desperate as to when you have done all the work for them.. they charge back those funds just to keep their ship afloat, and leave you in the end with less than nothing (no money and loss of all hours and resources that were invested).   you can't sue, because the cost of drawn out litigation would basically negate any sort of real monetary gain in the end.

a few years ago, this scenario would have been a true anomaly.  these days it seems to be becoming a common tale.  this is just one example from my personal experience, but I am sure there are many from other industries that would reiterate the basic sentiment.  times are tough these days, and it is probably only going to get more difficult for a lot of people.  consider yourself fortunate that you don't find yourself in a situation like this, because believe me... regardless of past success it can happen to anybody.

People in Australia are still living it up like it's 2005 in Florida the fools.

$600,000 median house price in Sydney. Everyone thinking "it's different here."

Will end in tears.

Why worry about anything?

Will all the worry in the world change anything?

Personally, I think the economy will only get better from here on out. There are some significant changes coming into effect involving the trucking industry.

For those of you (most?) who don't know much about the trucking industry, I can tell you this: Everything (I mean EVERYTHING) that you possess was at one point, somewhere, sometime, on a truck. The changes that are coming will have positive repercussions on the economy as a whole. (HOLE?) -- If you don't believe me, ask yourselves why Arnold has suddenly become so interested in fines involving truckers and trucking companies... and PLEASE don't say "safety"

We shall see.

There's still another leg to this. The Fed has replaced a housing bubble with a t-bill bubble, when interest rates eventually rise, the dollar is gonna take a serious hit.

IMO, this is the greatest homemade youtube of all time. Peter Schiff is a modern day Gallileo. If some of the people he owned on this compilation had any self respect they'd commit Hari Kiri.

worried?,,worry time was in 2000-2007,,now its ppay time,,americana is changing and going into the sunset,,it will be diff country in 10 years,,very diff,,only reason to livein americana now days is if you marry americana and love her ,, or if want to make money since everything is falling apart,,so if you got money and bring it to amaricana now dyas it means immediate green card and citizenship to follow,,infact they beg you nwo days if you got $$

quite sad what a bunch of whores and a president named clinton did to your country,,bush took it to new level ,,and obama finally finished you for good,,its not somethign you can see as americanos as of yet,,it wil take you time since you are not your granpa generation of worriors,,you are now days lazy,,slow ,,used to everything being evoloved around you ,,but the reality is that everything is going away ,,

the main thing to blame is a girl by the name of britney spears and the such that include all the whores with no talent that ruined your yooth because everythign start with the youth,,a president by the name of william clinton and george bush,, and a wanna be president by the name of obama which completetly raised to power by the power of nothingess,,

the reason you can not see it yet is because if you take a look at your women in americana you will see that they dont care about anything but their nails getting done,,about the wether for the next day ,,and about what time mall close,,they do not care about anything but their local 10 by 10 town,,and surrounding 50 miles,,

you stil cant see it my friends,,but its coming,,

sad but no where to run
any recovery is only in the magzine and tv,,there is no recovery and no better it is going into depression and will stay this way for quite few years to come after that it will be new americana most likly more liberterian americana,,time wil tell

I am. I really love this country, and one of my biggest fears is losing the abundance and liberty that God has blessed us with.

It also pisses me off that the economic troubles we're in the midst of were created by wealthy bankers, and that our stupid government bailed them out with no questions asked so they can do it all over again--and they will do it all over again eventually.

Wow!  I was about to say that American capitalism is being destroyed from within, so it's interesting that you brought that up.  Competition is necessary for an economy to be successful.  Centralized power has no incentive to produce.

Peter Schiff is awesome as hell.  Jim Rogers him and Milton Friedman.

I totally agree there.

Personally I would like to see Nasser El Sonbaty as president of the USA.  You have to admit, he would be better than any of the current choices.  Nasser also said in his first training video that he reads newspapers and in general, makes an effort to be politically aware.  This is quite unlike George Bush, and whether he reads newspapers or not, Obama is not any better [and I would say worse].

$320 a week ain't no thang to me, g.

Hell, I even improved the garden beds, recorniced the garage, and repainted the front door.  My rental agent should send me beer and his daughters.
