New ARNOLD magazine out... sorta
« on: September 16, 2010, 06:44:47 AM »
I'm sure most know, but maybe some don't. There's a new magazine titled Legends that features bodybuilders from the 40's and 90's. Of course, everyone's favorite bodybuilder (you know he's your favorite) Arnold is on the cover, naturally.  ;D

Anyway, here's the cover and Arnold's section inside the magazine...

Here's one side of the poster

And here's the other side

Ha, ha.
Arnold is the most impressive BB of all time.
The incline bench pic is insane - any chance for a larger size?

Don't know if you're in the USA or what, but I just picked it up at my local supermarket.

You can always order it online on Musclemag's website, too.

What I find amazing about M&F and the other muscle mags is how much they use the old time bodybuilders like Arnold, Louie, Franco, Zane and others on the covers and for major stories more than current bodybuilders.  What it tells me is they (editors and publishers) they know the genral public is not attracted to the current look of bodybuilders.  But why do they allow them to look the way they do.  If the judging changed where when you look so grotequse like Kai and others then they get deductions.  The judges and the IFBB have the power to change the look of BB by simply not rewarding the big ugly physiques.  Simple as that.  In addition, when you are someone seeking sponsorship, companies look for guys who get exposure and get their name out there.  Everytime the magazines put Arnold or another old timer on the cover they are taking away possible sponsorship money for a current champion.  It's too bad.
No Worries 4 me

it annoys me that there are thousands of unseen pics by various photographers yet all these specials have virtually no new pics of Arnold.
the ones just posted for example only 4 out of the whole section are new to me.
I's like to see a whole special with all totally new pictures to make it worth the money

from what i understand.............. ARNOLD himself bought up pretty much all the old canned footage and photos of him..........from people like art zellar and george butler

he is in pretty much total control of his own back catalog so to speak

im sure flex et al. would love nothing more then to devote ENTIRE issues to releasing never before seen pics of Arnold

its arnold who is keeping the public away from them, so if you want to bitch, bitch at him

X2

There's been one, MAYBE two pictures of Arnold I haven't seen outta all the 'special' mags.

Some of the pictures may be new to some people, but they also happen to be the very pictures already published time and time again.

Yup. Which would explain why he was in the '77 edition of Guiness World Records for having the world's most perfect body.  8)

LOL.

Arnold was a manufactured entity. Gave you colorless people someone to look up to in the pageant world.
In reality Arnold probably should only be 4 time Mr. O.

He would get fucking crushed in any other era....

Excellent observation.  I bet it is rare for anyone to pick up a copy of a BB magazine on the newstand, at $6.95 a pop, when it has Jay, Dex, Phil, Kai or any of the current pros on the cover.  When Arnold and other old-timers are on the cover, bet the newstand circulation jumps up dramatically.

Chick, Can you bring this up with uncle Joe Weider the next time you see him?  Someone in the IFBB needs to promote better physiques that are more in line with what one could attain without massive amounts of GH and steroids.
