Being in "poverty" in the USA still means you are one of the 10% of best-off people in the world.  Something fat Michael Moore forgets to mention in his movies.

That`s stupid, you can gain weight, and still be poor as hell. There more likely to live on shitty foods low in protein. Your metabolism slows down, and eating fuck all will cause you to gain a ton. Just eat a bunch of sugar loaded kraft dinner for a year and see what happens. 

Many poor as fuck countries have fat people. It depends on the local diet. Of course there not starving to death. But it that what it takes for you to give a fuck
