The Future of MMA???
« on: September 19, 2010, 08:59:20 AM »
I am sure you have all seen the commercials from the last fight night. The two little kids in the octagon training with Shawn Tomkins and Mark Coleman. Well, I actually did go to tapout.com to see the whole video and I'm just wondering...Is this really a good thing???  These kids are 7 and 9 I think it said. They are being trained by some of the best mma coaches in the world. While the dad seems to say they cannot compete until after their educations are completed it makes me wonder if other parent's will use their kids as a meal ticket. Much like crazy hockey dad's or something. I am all for kids learning a martial art or wrestling or something that teaches discipline, respect and determination. I am just wondering where the line is you know. Does your 7 year old really need to be training with Randy Couture? That being said I would be ecstatic if I could get my 8 year old to train with him. So where do we go from here? I am really just curious to see what others thoughts were. I believe it could be a really good thing to keep kids active and help mold them into productive adults. However, like most kids with talent it will be up to the parents to help guide their kids along properly (if that is the parent's intention).  I have include the link below. The kids have skill I will give them that.

happens all the time....we hand camps with former and current nfl players in high school that you could send your kids to their camps for a fee.

Same with baseball camps and basketball...happens all the time. This is just a new business model being released to the public to choose from. Another option.

...and yes....Those kids were bad ass. LOL

Here, here! MMA is the best thing to happen to this generation of young males. It's just what the doctor ordered to counteract the effects of feminism and political correctness.
