Powell levels some criticism on President Obama

At least he's only sipping the Kool-Aid now.   :)  Clinton is wrong about the Tea Party.  They have a platform.

Sounds of Sunday: Most intriguing quotes
Posted: September 19th, 2010

(CNN) - Former Secretary of State Colin Powell and former President Bill Clinton offered some of the most quotable sound bites from the Sunday morning shows:

On President Obama:
"I think he has lost some of the ability to connect that he had during the campaign. And it is not just me picking on the president. It's reflected in the polling." - Colin Powell, "Meet the Press"

On the Republican Party:
"I still think that there is need for a two-party system and that the Republican Party still has strength in it. It has strength with respect to its feelings about foreign policy and defense policy and our place in the world. And I'm not happy with the rightward switch, shift that the party has taken and I've said that on many occasions. I'm not about to give up." - Colin Powell, "Meet the Press"

On the Tea Party:
"The thing that bothers me about the Tea Party movement is two things. No. 1, according to the profiles and the studies that have been done, it's being bankrolled by people who want to weaken the government so that there will be even more unaccounted-for private concentration of power, and that's what got us in the mess we're in in the first place. And the second thing that bothers me is that it's hard to know where they stand on these specific issues." - Bill Clinton, CBS's "Face the Nation"

Interesting.  The massive de-regulation that the Tea party endorses would allow for more BP spills, etc.  it's tough - regulation makes shit safer, but it does impede business.

Do you feel investors (like madoff and the small guys too) should face greater inspection and regulation by the govt?

No, we have enough laws, agencies, regs etc.  We just need these lazy grifters to do their damn job instead of watching porno all day.

Colin Powell is a fool. His name should be spelled Colon because he is full of crap. The idea that we have to suffer through him and the media telling us he is a republican makres me sick to my stomach. He actually said "Obama stabalised the economy".Really?Your the only republican in the unniverse who thinks much less would say that.Just admit your a democrat and you are a typical black, who votes entirely because of race and get out of the buisiness of claiming your a republican.

By the way,you say Obama is a Christian.Based on what?YOUR opinion? His claims?Sorry the proof is in the pudding. He is a follower of black liberation theology which is as Christian as the devil.

Safety is always important, especially when there are no jobs.  Laid off workers have more time to empathize with oil-covered animals they see on their TV....

Amazing....  HAHAHAHA... You guys were all over him as super awesome before he endorsed Obama.  Then he came out for Obama and you all said it was just because he was black.  Or as you, BB, believe, because they're both white ::) LOLOL...

As far as Powell being critical of Obama, that's GOOD and I wouldn't expect less of Powell.  I think he's learned his lesson of blindly following long ago and he doesn't have a career on the line now.  Despite Powell's mistakes, he's a good dude imo...

Just read the rest of the original post, he's spot on with the tea party.  If you look at who is putting up the money, you won't find the Ron Paul type group.  I've been bitching about this forever but nobody gave a shit.  This is a team up between Fox News and corporate interest.  Sad, really fucking sad and it makes me sick that what Ron Paul started got disolved into that kind of shit.

Dont you have some weights to lift...oh wait, you dont actually lift weights but post on a bodybuiulding site. Now THATS some strange shit.

Care to debate my point about Powell claiming Obama is a Christian?Lets see,sat in a church that taught black liberation theology,Obama claims he was won to Christ by a sawed off racist.Yet because Colon says Obama is a Christian we should all take his word for it.

Lastly, who here thought Powell was awesome? Not me.I have hated him for years and his nut job wife as well.

What are you babbling about?  I'm still a Powell fan.  Don't agree with his endorsement of Obama, but I still like him.  He's a Great American.

And when did I call Colin Powell white?   ::)
