lol. You have no idea how addicting they are man. Once ur hooked ur hooked.

i have a friend who started on ketamine, then went to oxy, then started mainlining diaudids. thats some hardcore fucking shit there. anyway his girls caught him shooting up and dumped him. he went to the doc to straighten out and the doc outright told him that he would pretty much have his addiction for life, and gave him a script for methadone. getting off the dilaudid was hell for him- you can see it when he was telling the story how earnest he was about how bad coming off it was. using the methadone, he weaned himself off the dilaudid, and then weaned himself off the methadone cold turkey.

he's been clean now for a year and a half or so. i can only imagine the willpower it took to clean himself out. its truly amazing. i hope and pray he stays sober cause a better guy with a kinder heart i have never met.

good advice all around. Basically you're playing with fire when you take oxy. The rare person can balance it out and keep it just for weekends or the odd occasion, but most other people get hooked and it starts to take over their life.

You can get away without feeling too shitty by just taking it for 1-2 days. once you start taking ox for 3 or more days and stop, you'll go though withdrawls. Extreme exhaustion is one of them that's not fun. You'll just want to lie in bed all day and night. I think the reason is because you don't get in your rem sleep on ox. You sleep very lightly and wake up a ton throughout the night. Once your off Ox, you may notice things that never hurt you before begin to nag you. You're lower back may become sore, athritis may all of a sudden flare up or your joints may feel brittle and nag with pain. This will last a couple days before feeling normal again.

It's also tough for those that get hooked to have to experience life on a normal scale once again. If you take an ox, you'll have the most perfect day and you will feel totally in control and strong. It's not like coke or E that makes you feel kinda loopey and fuked up. It's a super clean high and you'll find yourself enjoying just about everything you do. That's the problem though, once you go off you'll remember how much fun you had doing the most boring things and that itch to take them will come back.

Like I said, it's playing with fire.

I don't care to train while I'm on them either and I do enjoy eating junk food more on them also. Get someone to hold them for you until you're ok to decide if you'd like to get rid of them permanently. Otherwise just dump them out in the toilet and flush. lol

Taper off bro, instead of going cold turkey..Use 1 every 4 hours for the next few days, then break in half for the next few days after that..a slow taper is best when there pain

Yes, but you'll be 100% fine in a few days. The worst is the extreme exhaustion but if all you have to do is sit around your place then just sleep it off. Expect to sleep about 18 hours a day for a couple days though.

I've had a couple of friends addicted from recreational use. One is still doing them daily going on 4-5 months and not a day off during this time. I heard you can die once you come off from a hard addiction to them like this. He will need rehab but that's not the first time he's been there. The other times we're for other drugs though like G and Coke.

Another friend is recovering from his addiction and doc put him on lorezapam and some sleeping pill and he says it's going well.

I don't think drug addicts are necessarily condemning potential users/abusers.  I'd say it's more of a 'don't go down the same rough road I chose' type of thing.  I was prescribed oxy for 3-4 months b/c I had a bunch of my guts scooped out last year.  I was concerned about withdrawals from coming off the meds, so I checked out youtube for anecdotes.  I ended up pm'ing a few of the posters about their experience with coming off the drug, and most of them had the same sentiments as the people you are talking about.  They all condemned the drug and it's use, but were more or less telling me to be careful with the drug, and use it properly.

All that being said, I weened myself off for about 2 weeks, then just dropped it cold turkey.  It was rough for about 5 days, with restless legs, jitters, sleeplessness being the biggest issues.  All in all, great drug for pain, and gives an awesome feeling of euphoria.  I can see how people can get addicted if they have willpower/self control issues.  While on the drug, I was constantly in a good/upbeat mood, despite having my chest cut in half.  lol.

Good post.  Personally I find that a lot of people rationalize their own drug use, no matter what it is.  Why not just admit you have a vice and shut up?  I admittedly plan to consume one glass of wine per day starting very soon for good health, but that is one of the rare cases where drug use actually is healthy.  Other examples include pain-relief as you experienced.  But it's one thing to justify personal use, but another thing in my mind when those same people condemn others for behaviour they justify in themselves [although as you said, not all of them do that].  Check out Mike Quinn defending his cocaine use:

Quote
T-Nation: You struggled with a recreational drug problem for several years, correct?

MQ: It was an on and off thing. I wasn’t a drug addict. I was actually self-medicating the anxiety from my ADHD with cocaine. When I used coke, I could read, I could think straight, and I was centered. I thought it made me normal. ADHD is the opposite of ADD. You aren’t hyper-active, you’re hyper-reactive to stimuli. It’s why I had no control over my anger as a young man.

I am not saying you will get addicted, but like many others have said be careful. My buddy(I guess you could call him that) was addicted to Oxys for awhile and was pretty open about it. He basically had to sell a decent amount to afford his habit. His wife was also addicted to them(and they had two small children). Both have well paying jobs and still are broke because of their pill addiction, on top of poor money management of course. Well, there was a big pill bust in my town(same lady was stealing them from a pharmacy she worked at and gave it to her husband to sell).. My buddy was involved apparently and was set up on a controlled buy(basically to get more info about the people who were the major suppliers). He has pretty much hit rock bottom. He stopped lifting and eating and probably lost 20-30 lbs(originally had an extremely respectable physique). It became pretty common knowledge now this guy is an informant to save his own ass from jail. He has already tried setting up people, but since everyone has a big mouth and know he got arrested they stay clear.
