Okami vs Anderson Video
« on: September 21, 2010, 02:37:06 PM »
This was a great fight with an unfortunate ending.  If Okami can get past Vitor, he will get a rematch with Anderson...

He wont, and Vitor won't make it past Anderson.

Both are tailormade for Anderson-- only guys who are really good on the ground and know how to control Anderson while avoiding major damage have a chance. BJJ guys, muay thai guys, scrapy little japs= no shot against Anderson in 2010

As much as I hate Anderson and like Vitor, how do you figure?

He's the best counterpuncher in the sport-- If Vitor just runs at him throwing bombs, Vitor will get Ko'd. If he just stands in front of Anderson and tries to out strike him, he will either get Ko'd or lose badly on points.Vitor is the only threat left at 185. I don't see Silva underpreparing or taking Vitor lightly.

Maybe coming off of this injury Silva is not going to be himself, but I doubt it.

they are both comming off of injuries...and there isnt a damn thing wrong with silva...that last ass beating he took meant he needed an excuse, thats the kind of piece of shit silva is..

everybody said shogun was going to loss to machida for damn near the same reasons.....and shogun whooped his ass 2 times like a bad kid at walmart....even though he was only awarded victory...

vitor is a fighter, anderson a show boat....think about this....how would vitor have done agaist chael?...a lot better than silva!...silva is only good when he completley outclasses his opponent...he doesnt outclass vitor, just like he didnt outclass chael..

Vitor won't get a chance now anyways,  he is hurt again.  Nate Marquart is taking his spot in the Okami fight.

No Nate is taking Vitor's place in the Okami fight, so Vitor can fight guess who...........

Vitor Belfort is going to get his title shot just a bit sooner than he had anticipated.

The Brazilian had been announced in a number one contender’s bout against Yushin Okami for the main event of UFC 122 on Nov. 13. Belfort was pulled from the bout and MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday confirmed that Nate Marquardt would step in to face Okami on the card in Germany.

It quickly came to light Wednesday morning that the reason for Belfort’s removal from the bout was not due to injury.

UFC president Dana White cleared up much of the speculation surrounding the situation when he tweeted on Wednesday, “Vitor is not injured. He is going to fight Anderson for the title and the winner of Marquardt and Okami are next.”

Chael Sonnen had originally been the next opponent on tap for UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva with most reports suggesting a Super Bowl weekend rematch for the two. Sonnen, however, tested positive for steroids and has been suspended for a year, according to the California State Athletic Commission.

The biggest question now is when middleweight champion Anderson Silva will defend against Belfort. There has been much speculation that it could happen as soon as Jan. 1 at UFC 125, as the UFC searches for a suitable main event for its New Year’s Day event.

MMAWeekly.com sources said that the bout is currently is still awash in negotiations and hasn’t yet been finalized.

It's going to end up being the rematch Marquardt has wanted for a long time- but the result is going to be exactly the same.
