All of this running, baking, biking and motorcycle riding etc....= a waste of time, effort (not that wearing your favorite pink visor and moo moo shorts with sunglasses whilst walking 3 mph is any real effort anyways) and money so far.

I wonder why all activities are necessary ?  ???    You`d think it would be enough to just waste the money and donate without ever having to walk/run with a bunch of smelly old people (and a few schmucks in spandex who treat it like the olympics) or without ever having to wear some gay ribbon or stupid wrist band.

But no, its always donate this, buy that, run here, walk there.  All for nothing.

Fuck your Cancer.

How did that "Miracle" and Papal Intervention, combined with the other millions of empty headed morons "praying" for Terry Fox work out?   HAHAHHAHHAH  ;)

Death
In the following months, Fox received multiple chemotherapy treatments; however, the disease continued to spread.[58] As his condition worsened, Canadians hoped for a miracle and Pope John Paul II sent a telegram saying that he was praying for Fox.[59] Doctors turned to experimental interferon treatments, though their effectiveness against osteogenic sarcoma was unknown.[60] He suffered an adverse reaction to his first treatment,[61] but continued the program after a period of rest.[62]

Fox was re-admitted to the New Westminster hospital on June 19, 1981, with chest congestion and developed pneumonia.[63] He fell into a coma and died at 4:35 a.m. PDT on June 28, 1981, with his family by his side.[64] The Government of Canada ordered flags across the country lowered to half mast, an unprecedented honour that was usually reserved for statesmen.[65] Addressing the House of Commons, Trudeau said, "It occurs very rarely in the life of a nation that the courageous spirit of one person unites all people in the celebration of his life and in the mourning of his death ... We do not think of him as one who was defeated by misfortune but as one who inspired us with the example of the triumph of the human spirit over adversity".[66]

His funeral, attended by 40 relatives and 200 guests,[66] was broadcast on national television; hundreds of communities across Canada also held memorial services.[67] A public memorial service was held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa,[68] and Canadians again overwhelmed Cancer Society offices with donations.[69]

What do people do with all the oversized T-Shirts they get for participating in these futile and useless events?

I think this whole "Walk for the Cure" thing is about self-righteous assholes who want to go around bragging that they took part in such an event and will quickly whip out the photos or wear the T-Shirt to prove it.  "Look at me! Look at me!  I am fighting Cancer too!"

Then there are the douchebags who shave their head as if the person with Cancer wants to be fucking reminded that their hair will be permanently fucked if not gone forever.  Yah thats real nice and fucking brilliant.  Remind them of their plight constantly all with a shit eating grin.

You said it all and proved my point wonderfully.  Now what is it that you do with all of those oversized, tacky T-Shirts?  Dust Rags?  Shit wipes?  Saving in case you get obese again?

I try and pick up my race packs as soon as I can, because I dont like oversized anything. Friday I'll pick up my pack, this isn't a charity half marathon, just something I like to do. I never keep anything over a size one bottom or size small top.

I have only done one charity one TA and the top was a medium that I use to armor all my tires

Cancer "survivors" are also highly amusing to me.  They want to be lauded like some sort of hero for just breathing (again Look at Me!).  They tour around their city, state or country giving false hope to the terminally ill and selling their story like some street preaching mountebank to endless suckers who will continue to fund such bullshit, all because it makes everyone involved "feel good" or "feel better" about theirselves. Some even thank "god" or a "jesus" totally disregarding/disrespecting all of the medical Science and the tireless work of their physicians who are the only real reason they survived.

it's not to be rude or anything, I DONT like oversized anything, it's one of the ways of not going back to my old obese ways. I did forget when I did the babies heart motorcycle run a few weeks back all they had was a large tshirt. I tried to shrink it but didn't work. I dunno where that shirt is though

TA I think your're missing my point. I like running big and small races. If I can raise money, AWESOME, but will run them regardless. Christ I ran the Hartford Marathon for no charity, just to accomplish it
