is there like a Valet system, where I can lock away all sensitive info and only allow him some access??

I usually lock my computer but I'm going to be away all day. any ideas??

Whether it's a cable or DSL modem installation, they'll just be doing the wiring, hooking up the modem and that's it. Rarely do they ever do anything with home networking - fuck that. It's your responsibility to setup your cheap wireless router. The furthest they'll go in terms of testing your connectivity is making sure your web browser connects to the default home page and that's that.

You have nothing to worry about. They'll sooner steal a small valuable possession than snoop around on your computer. Installers are usually unit based and make commissions for all the different products they install. It's better for them to just get things going nice and quickly and move onto the next customer.

that linksys router allows to setup a guest network. Not what you what to do.
1.) what you going to have to do is stick all "private material" in an external harddrive or a true crypt partition. 
then, if on a pc, eraser them with eraser. On a mac, del them. then used "eraser free space" in disk utility.
2.) export and then del your private bookmarks, so you can import them back later.
3.) del all browsers passwords, history, etc.
4.) if you on  windows, you can run ccleaner

techies love stealing porn tho. Just don't have any home vids and you should be fine. In my experience at&t DSL tech. doesn't touch your computer to setup the network. But RoadRunner does, but youre watching them the whole time.
