YaY. There is nothing wrong at all with them and they provide many solutions to nutritional deficiencies particilarly in third world countries. For instance, a rice grain was produced that added extra vitamins to the Genome of that particular rice strain. The recipients were no longer suffering nutritional dieseases as a result.
They also provide genetic resistance to crops from certain dieseases and pests, therefore less pesticides can be implemented. Also there can be taste benefits as well as these genes can be manipulated to produce a desired result.
Another benefit is larger crop yields, longer crop yields and the ability to use less land as well as less damage to the soil.
