Well, I was contacted this morning by a representative of Progenex USA after I ran another article this Saturday. I will post the link below but I've also listed the contents of the article as well if you didn't wish to visit the site. Its very interesting though
http://muscleworldorder.com/?p=403By the way folks, now that I'm making a little money off this venture, I've redesigned the site and give it a cleaner and professional look and I now have a new "Submit News" program running. If you want something published or discussed, simply click that link, fill out the information, and I'll review what you have to say and your name will be cited in that article. (That even includes your hypertrophy articles Vince Basile).
Thank you fellow Getbiggers
Yesterday, I wrote an article regarding Progenex not giving us an official response to the allegations leveled by Dr Connelly. This morning I did receive a call from Aaron Thomas and there was apparently a miscommunication on both of our ends and we now have an official response from the company
The message was actually sent out to all customers of Progenex and contents are quite shocking as to what is being stated from the company. The following letter is listed below:
Many of you probably received an email this last weekend (I know my mother did) from Dr. Scott Connelly. I apologize that you were among those that were spammed. It appears that Dr. Connelly illegally hijacked the company’s mailing list to proffer bizarre allegations against Progenex, which are false and misleading and are the subject of ongoing investigations and legal proceedings against him.
On May 12, 2010, Progenex filed a lawsuit against Dr. Connelly. Progenex had acquired disturbing facts about Dr. Connelly, who, at that time, was Chairman of the Board of Directors and Progenex’s CEO. After confronting him with the information below, rather than responding to these disturbing concerns, Dr. Connelly abruptly resigned, took confidential corporate information with him, and continues on his journey to disparage Progenex despite still being the company’s single largest shareholder. The spam email you have received is part of that continuing conduct. As of April 27, 2010, this is what Progenex had learned Dr. Connelly was doing:
Using Progenex financial and human resources to launch a competing company.
Falsifying his educational background and true qualifications as a scientist/formulator.
Concealing numerous lawsuits against him filed by government agencies and past partners (all of which he either lost or settled).
Conspiring with a manufacturer and others to defraud investors
We apologize that your inboxes were targeted as a battlefield best reserved for the courtroom - and we promise not to betray your trust with similar emails. I encourage you to let the products do the talking and we’ll let a jury determine Dr. Connelly’s fate. In the event that you want to learn more about the background of the case against Dr. Connelly’s and his strange behavior click here.
Judging by the spike in sales this weekend, it appears that a number of you took the opportunity to try our exciting new products. When we discovered that Dr. Connelly wasn’t the protein specialist he claimed to be, we reached out to various nutritionists, protein technologists and formulators, gave them our existing formulations and raw material samples and asked them to enhance our products and tailor them to athletes pursuing “clean” eating diets.
As always, Progenex stands behind its products, and remains focused on the company’s founding tenet: to create products that deliver exceptional results. Daily we receive positive feedback from customers and professional athletes that praise the new More Muscle and Recovery products, commending us for removing the aspartame. We stand by our products and offer an unconditional money back guarantee for anyone that isn’t satisfied with the product’s taste or performance. You can learn more about our new products by clicking here.
If you want to purchase the original Progenex products, the Raw Recovery and Growth are available on the website. The WGFE ingredient (which was never included in the More Muscle and Recovery formulations) is also available for purchase, simply email wgfe@progenexusa.com to arrange for purchase.

First off, I personally didn’t take any stock into the two allegations regarding his educational background and previous lawsuits. These items I believe are not of importance because these things should have been checked prior to engaging in any business deal especially one that’s in millions. However, the other two are highly critical causes. If Dr Connelly is building a competing brand of products and has contacted another manufacturer for that then this is a serious issue that would clearly warrant a lawsuit.
Now there’s just been one factor that I think that has been well overblown and that’s the formula. I’ve heard a number of people complain about the new formula and that it wasn’t as effective as the original formulas that had WGFE in it but Progenex has stated that the original formulas for More Muscle and Recovery products NEVER HAD WGFE IN IT AT ALL.
So What’s The Real Deal, Vince???
Fellow Vincaholics, I honestly can’t give you the real deal because the truth is that there’s no way you can truly determine a significant difference in two different protein supplements. If you took one scoop of the original Progenex formula and one scoop of the new formula and didn’t tell the person then I would seriously doubt if someone would know right off the bat which is which or whether one product works better than another. In addition, bloating and farting can be caused by a number of factors that certainly can’t be determined specifically by the intake of any protein supplements unless someone has used that product for a adequate amount of time and then ceased use of the product.
I’m not saying that the new formula is better or worse than the old formula but there simply needs to be more evidence given. Lets not forget that Dr Connelly did tell customers that the formulas were not the same product and that has a huge effect on one’s psyche. One of the biggest driving forces behind the sales of nutritional supplements is customer confidence. If they have lost confidence in the products that they are taking then they will think that their products don’t work even if it was spiked with 50 mg of Dianabol per serving.
One thing is certain, we’ve not heard the last from both parties.
P.S. Some people are still asking me why I haven’t posted Dr Connelly’s side of the situation and as I’ve stated in the first article regarding the lawsuit, I have never received any letters or calls from Dr Connelly or any of his representatives. I’ll be more than happy to do so as I like to keep thing neutral to give readers an opportunity to make a well informed decision but that is their right and lets not forget that this is a serious legal matter in which anything stated can be used in a court of law.
