Why do Mexicans always refer to themselves as Spanish?

unfortunately...north americans are caught up in that little popcorn singing princess when they think Colombian but you should think Monique_Fuentes...who is a very, very, very Colombian woman in terms of her physical European expression with a heavy ethnic dose.  When they have that Colombian thing...as i say...they have this 24/7 serious look on their faces like russians...just in a colombian way. it's hard to explain.

There are loads of myans and they still speak the language. Mexicans dont like to admit to it though since their mexicos spics.

Also in many central american countries, pale look mesitos are called spanish, so they dont get confused with blacks and natives.

Anyhow mexicans are the hottest chicks in the world. IMHO, there like a bunch of half jap whites.

there is a difference between mexican, and spanish....for instance i know mexican.....if i went to spain, they would have no idea what the hell i was saying....come back to texas and everyone will know what i am saying...like every other language...it has become dominated with slang...

I was in LA last week and while waiting for The Coach to return my call I met one of the top 5 hottest girls in my entire life. She was obviously Latina but had the gall to tell me she was Spanish.

This has happened many times before with both girls and guys who are ashamed to claim their Mexican heritage!

What gives? Is being Spanish supposed to be a step up from Mexican?

  Just a few reasons I can think of the top of my head:

  - Spain was the colonial power whilst Mexico was the colony. Thus, Spain ranks higher in the minds of Mexicans than Mexico.

  - The Spanish are white Europeans, and the mostly mestizo Mexicans have a massive inferiority complex of being mix bred with indians.

  - Spain is a First World country; Mexico is a Turd World shithole.

  - Spaniards are Darwinianly superior to Mexicans in pretty much everything: intelligence, stature, looks.

  - Etcetera ad nauseum.

some people just dont understand........i ate at three different tex mex hole in the walls today.....

1st place=el agave plate...8oz of beef fajita with corn tortillas...and beans and rice

2nd place= barbacoa with charro beans and rice

3rd place=beef fajita flameado with a order of beef fajita nachos

all three tickets combined?.....$16!!!!!!!!....i love those brown bastards.....not a day goes by where i dont go to a taqueria...
