It's single ply equipment, the lightest/thinnest you're allowed to use. The whole meet was single ply only.
The equipment definitely increases your numbers, but it's not like you can just slap it on and start using it. You have to train to use it and be able to handle the heavy weight. More than half the battle with squatting is the setup - unracking the weight and walking it out.
I usually train raw to get my strength up and then practice with the equipment for 6-8 weeks before a meet.
I'd guess that my raw 1RMs are maybe 275-300 for a squat below parallel without knee wraps and 325-345 with knee wraps, 225 bench press, and maybe 365 deadlift.
