Look TU - I posted thousands of threads BEFORE obamacare was passed as to how bad it was, and very few listened.  Tough shit.

I wish only that those who supported obamaCare would be those who lose health coverage and not those who were against it.

I am in a great many ways... Yes.

I do agree that any legislation that causes people to actually lose what healthcare they have, if they desire to keep it, is pretty poorly written legislation.

The irony is that the hippocratic oath is "first do no harm".  They did the opposite with this mess.  An TU - trust me - when millions get moved to Medicaid - your state taxes are going to get rocked since the states pick up 50% of the medicaid tab.  this was one of the major lies obama told in this mess as far as the cost goes.

So making sure that kids are not dropped by the insurance companies anymore due to pre existing conditions qualifies as doing harm in your opinion?? While the legislation is anything but perfect you have to admit there are a couple of provisions that WILL HELP consumers, in case you want to be objective.

That's a fair point as well... There is some good stuff in there too I'd say.

Again, I ask people... if I were the President and I cut back spending in other areas and it pays for this healthcare bill and your taxes were guaranteed not to go up.

Would you still be against it? If so, why?

This is why you are a lib - you latch onto heart string issues and don't look at the overall impact of this disaster.

ObamaCare is a complete farce and most of the issues brough up could have been addressed at little cost to everyone else without the Rube Goldberg'esq structure they built.

dude - wake up already.

Kids are already on there until they are 24 I think.

What's a couple of years?

I was on my parents insurance until I was 22 and I had a job and insurance on my own.

They should have created a high deductible low premium policy for young people that is inexpensive just in the case of emergency without covering all sorts of crap like they did.

TU - you really need to look into the Medicaid aspaect of this disaster.  obama lied so bad on this its not funny and your state taxes are going to explode because of this.

As I asked Billy in a different thread ( he never answered) , I'm gonna ask you the same question. What if your kid was denied coverage and you exhausted all your options???? Don't tell me you would NOT be happy that this provision was enacted....give me a fucking break. ::)

Unlike filthy lib idiots.Id work three or four or five jobs to make sure they got paid for.Id go to church and ask for help. This is America you can get help outside the filthy dirty rotten government.I dont want the filthy government, who spends us into oblivian on stupid ass things like the failed stimulus, dictating to companies their rules.

Lets take that trillion dollars Imam Obama wasted on crap, and put it into an account and get the 15 million people health care.Of course we cant do that because Imam Obama couldnt care less about sick kids,he is more interested in bankrupting insurance companies and paying off gangster unions.

Again - these are case by case issues.  Those stories are a fraction of the overall cases and could have been dealt with without destroying the 85% of peoples' coverage that works.

That is why you are a far far far left lib - you don't care about destroying what works for 85% of people, focus on a small minority, and destroy the entire system.

ObamaCare is going to cost TRILLIONS at a time we can't afford it and the lies this traitor told to sell it are disgusting.

Yes I would be against it just like I am against any other shit the federal government does that exceeds its constitutional authority.  Where do think HMO's came from in the first place? The federal government.

It's bad PR to drop it.  Like it or not McDonalds is not going to drop health care.  Starbucks is the same, they had the option to drop health care before Obama care but Shultz made it a non starter by saying health care is important to the workers and the workers are important to the company.  Those companies that don't adapt to this will miss out when the job market becomes more favorable to employees.

By the time the job market gets better, health care will have been repealed and Obama will be in jail hopefully.

Its the system we have, sadly.  It was started during WW2 and grew from there.

Explain...

During WW2, employers, inexchange for paying out more to workers in salary, paid for health care and other benes.  it was a way to hold off wage inflation during the war.  It was never meant to be what it turned in to.

I see what you're getting at.  It may not have meant to be permanent or apart of the current job market but it is and has been for decades.  Benefits are important and will continue to be, it's a natural evolution for workers to be compensated not just in cash.  Benefits are becoming more and more important to people today.  Cash is still king but the option of working for a company that provides meals for example is not one easily passed up.  Or provides extra holiday time, better dental plans etc.  That is where the best employees move to.  Take google for example.  No way a company like that continues to draw in the best talent like it does if it just offers straight cash compensation.  In fact they don't offer the best cash incentives for a lot of workers.  But they offer the best compensation package including benefits, meals, flexibility etc.
