Coleman had more shredded glutes and hams at 287 pds than Munzer had in the 220s lol. But enough discussion about men in thongs for today, I start feeling creepy. :-X :-X

they were not more shredded............cole man just had insane, huge out-of-this-world black man glutes..........that munzer didnt have, they were not his strongest body part

but its not that colemans glutes were leaner, they were just more pronounced cause they were bigger and had deeper striations

(plus you will notice in the pics from the 90s,,,,,,,,competitors didnt jam their posing trunks up their asscrack like coleman started doing, so you cant see as much of munzers glute)

WOW do I sound like a fucking F@GGOT..... detailing the finer points of black mens glutes vs. white mens

kill me...... ::)

I'll say it in every single post about Muntzer: never placed higher than 9th at the 'O. I think he would have deserved better. But that also shows (and I'll say that also every chance I get), the 90's were much more competitive than probably any other era.

They were competitive, but Munzer placed where he did because he wasnt the biggest of guys, and he was blocky....didnt have flowing lines which kept him back.  Especially given the company he was standing next to at the time...

He had striated but small triceps. When viewing the O's that he was in, he looked "odd", and lacked delt width, just a odd put together dude, who was super striated and ripped.

Isn't that exactly what I said. Who nowadays has "flowing" lines amongst the top Bbers except maybe Dex and Wolf to a certain extent?

the 90's was the time I was introduced and appreciate bodybuilding......the class of the 90's were truly amazing: ray, levrone, dillet, flex, dorian, cormier, nasser and others......I miss those guys, but time goes on. these new breed of bodybuilders are different and they have to create their own identities and I can't compare them to the 90's.....every decade is unique in bodybuilding.....from 2011 to 2019, we'll see fresh new guys that will carry the torch for the better, I guess.

Once again, that's relatively true. You'd put him in a lineup today, he'd look the least odd next to most top pros. Most people don't have any idea of the criterias that differentiates one Bber from another, but when you talk about "flow" and proportions, you'd see that most people can sense that. Show Munzer's picture next to someone like Branch's, Vic's, Hide's or even Jay's and the vast majority will think Muntzer had a more flowing physique. Different times.

There is something nostalgic about what era you grew up in, or got into the sport, etc.....with EVERY sport.  Every generation will say things like..."Yeah, we were all friends back then...not like these guys today..." and, "there was something special about it back then, not like now...." and in BB..."sure we took 2 dbol a day, but NOTHING compared to what they do today..."

Yeah...what was special, was that THEY were involved in it.

As someone great once said...The good ol days werent always good, and tomorrow aint as great as it see- ee- eeeems!

I had no interest in Bbing in the '90s. I only started when I set foot in a gym only about 4 years ago. Before I knew a lot about other "sports" but not Bbing. So I should think that the 2000's were the greatest years. But looking back, I actually consider it to be the worse years if you compare it to the so called golden Age and the '90s. Even if the '80s were poor as far as the competition is concerned (at least until Labrada challenged Haney's domination), there was a display of great physiques like Paris, De Mey, etc...And some incredible showings like Bannout in '83, Platz/Callendar/Padilla in '81,etc....Things people still talk about today. I doubt that we'll ever hear people recalling how great Dennis James or Gustavo looked like at the 'O in 2003.

Mike Kefallianos is the modern day Munzer. European, small, shitty structure, but shredded as fuck - and won't ever make the Top spots no matter how hard he tries.

Munzer was naturally skinny, an ectomorph.  I wouldn't call him blocky.  If you stuck him in this year's Olympia, he'd be 5th place.

Blocky was one...arms too small, shoulder width/ narrow, not thick enough front to back....

Sad thing is, only once he died, did he start getting attention - the wrong kind - , he was a bit underrated, and not being very well known didnt help.
Not many foreign based bbers make an impact.

Sure, he had flaws, but IMO, better than Cottrell, and Cottrell got good gifts.
