Don's reasoning is that he gave the kidney transplant a chance to work but it did not and he waited some time and then decided to get back into professional bodybuilding. As far as the stresses of professional bodybuilding go, I would say the diuretics would be worse than the bulking drugs, although I imagine his blood pressure would be higher at a higher body weight and that would not be good for his kidneys, or overall health for that matter.
What's all this "beyond HRT" stuff? Some people train and diet because they're hooked on being a muscley bastard, not because they want money. If you want money you rarely get to follow something you love and enjoy.
I guess that's the thing. Personally I just think that Don had spent many years as one of the most muscular men on earth and I'm surprised he still wants to be so big.
The last three pictures attached are from 2009. I wish Don the best, and Ronnie as well for that matter, and hopefully they are at least getting regular health checkups.
