You are right. You can't know someone 100%. I try to give 99% of myself to my gf but I always save 1%, just in case things go south...
My point is just that people will regret their choices anyway. IMHO, it's always better to regret choices made out of love than choices made out of some stupid set of rules made up by the mind.
In the future, I plan to be guarded when it comes to financial matters but I'm all in emotionally. I don't want to be left with the regret that I didn't give it all I had... again.
And if I hadn't gotten involved with her, my life would have been 1000x better now.
