Mitt work last sunday

Had my girlfriend tape the first round, we didn't work any body shots until the 2nd round.  Not sure if I am going to enter another toughman competition or not.

Jab =OK
Right cross= bad technique + slower than Fatpanda's weight loss .

good stuff....my suggestions...move beyond 1,2 punch combinations and deploy slips and head movements off your last shot (i.e. if you throw a left hook to end your combo....weave to that side underneath at the end with head movement)..for toughman...you should be fine. Go get em.

I love mitts...I actually run them full speed with my wife run in the garage...go her up to 6-7 punch combinations full speed moving and weaving off pivots countering.

and yes .....She'd knock 99% of you chumps smooth T/F out.  ;D

What are some of the combinations you like to throw?

me personally I try to throw minimum four punch ...this is a minimum (these combos are all moving forward full speed then immediate defense/movement afterwards) seconds literally.

- jab, straight right, straight left to the center mass (chest body area) and clean up with another right hand then circle or weave to the right.

- jab, jab, overhand right then back away jabs (no weave, no head movement...just straight back)

- light jab, straight right (neither has to land) then side step to the left and throw left hook to the body (mickey ward style) then back out fast.


more advanced combination

jab, jab, straight right, jab (circle to your left) right hand, left hand, right hand...all upstairs. All angles on these shots. Pac man has mastered this style basically...volume punching basically with power and just move your feet to set up an angle so the guy is stuck trying to turn to defend and you catch him with a shot he can't see or block.

mayweather shoulder roll combination...get up close, push off with your left forearm, shot a right hand pot shot then left hook counter then dip and throw straight right directly into the gut....one of these shots will land or your opponent will simply back out..no need to move at all...stay grounded on all shots and throw them with authority full speed.

I'll post a great mitt workout later...gotta get ready for work. LOL
