it seems as if competitive IFBB pros are no longer competitive. Flex and Cormier are a couple that I can think of. Look at the top pros.......I don't think any of them have any kids.....well save for Badell, but haven't heard from him since the birth of his last kid. Thoughts?

i know there are many national comp.s that have kids..i suppose the expense is to great at the pro level or decide that its just not worth it anymore. kids seem to give you a different perspective i life i suppose

Flex had a kid when he was competitive, he has a son who I think is 18, and a daughter who is older than that. One of the reasons Flex gave for competing, was because he had a family to feed...

Cormier? He won the IronMan 4 times and placed 3rd at the Olympia twice. Doesn't he have a son named Kiviok, from former fitness star Ahmo Hight (aka "MILF" from the show "Real Chance of Love")?

2 examples out of how many over the years?  There is no question that it's self centered as it pretty much has to be.  Even the spouses/gf's take a huge backseat.  Ever talk to, or hear any of them talk?  Many times they are not in good shape and complain it's because they have to focus on the bodybuilder and not themselves.  I'm not bashing, just telling it like it is.

You're back in the 80's bro where bodybuilding was pretty golden. Today's bodybuilder's seem way more self centered and the only concern is themselves. Maybe a girlfriend or wife too, but throw a kid in there and those pro's disappear from the scene. Just name a pro who has won a significant IFBB contest with a kid in that last 5 years.

That was hardly an exhaustive list, just a small sample. If spouses take a backseat, that has more to do with that guys, themselves, not that they're bodybuilders.
