How old was the kid? .....I started lifting serious weights when I was 10-11

Hmmm - its a tough call I think. On the one hand, this is just like encouraging kids to do any other sport at an early age - tennis, gymnastics, swimming etc. There is a risk that parents can get over-eager, but to me from the footage this looked OK. There are certainly a lot worse things parents are doing in America with their kids each day.

FYI, in the sport of weightlifting, in Europe, and now also in some countries such as China, kids are started at around age 5, sometimes younger. The same applies to gymnastics.

Or are you suggesting that the child is being given chemical hormones to asssit his performance? To me that would be inappropriate, but from the look of the kid I don't think that's the case.
