Do you have empathy for people?
« on: October 09, 2010, 10:32:33 AM »
Someone's aunt/mother/uncle passes away, you'll here:
"I feel badly for them, etc."
I never identify with that.

I think most times, people say that, but are just being phony.  They could probably give a shit too.

When i attend a funeral, I see these pretenders carrying the casket...I think, "Man up! Carry that box naturally, you couldn't lift Uncle  Walter unless you were on 3 grams a week." Don't get me started on the overtanned widow with tears running down her botoxed face while clutching her sobbing son against her vile fake tits. hahaahah gotta love it.

During my peak I was burying up the 3 grams and gramps a week. Looking pretty swole too, true dat.

Yes, I have empathy for people. However, you can only spread your extend your empathy to so many people.

When most people say things like "I'm sorry for your loss" they are saying it out of respect. I am sure they are not really grieving as you would if it was your own family member.

it'd take half a brain to know that.

Sounds like your describing sympathy not empathy. Sympathy is when you feel sorry for someone. Empathy is putting yourself in their shoes and their situation, identifying and understanding what they are going through.
I feel both for people when it is warranted. If someone did it to themselves such as suffering from lung cancer after smoking 2 packs a day for 35 years, well then i dont really give a damn.
