Anyone ever listen to Leroy Colbert?
« on: October 09, 2010, 11:50:22 PM »
He is an old school bodybuilder that would be really cool to sit down with and talk shit preferably with a joint.  I have never heard of the guy until I saw him with Joe Weider in an interview that's in another thread.

Here are few clips and his views.  Awesome guy.  The first man with 21" Biceps.  I think he is 77 or 78 here.

It's too bad steroids are death drugs!  He may only leave to be 90 instead of 105.  :P

You see, Leroy is an independent thinker. A lot smarter than your typical musclehead. Maybe that is partly why he was able to build his muscles larger than most.

Remember what he said about "blindly following", it can be used against him. I never believed the 21" claims,

I had a good look at the website, and all the pictures of him back in the 60s etc., and I must say he reeeeeally looked like a dbol man.   But you have to admit, he's still carrying a lot of muscle in his late seventies.  Must be some great genes at work there, too.

I've been to Leroy's house several times when I lived in LA. Smart, down to earth guy with a great sense of humor.

That was about 15 years ago. I remember him talking about how hard guys used to train back in the day, and about how guys today depend too much on pharmaceutical assistance...imagine that...

any good stories wish?train gym etc., any to question above^?

he was that classic build that everybody was chasn especially arms bfor arnold, one vid weider seemd almost and stated he was disappointd that leroy coulda been a great champion n he felt bad for him... think in another vid lroy said he injured his ankle and killd his chances training etc, forgot which vid but its there,,, maybe he was gona be another "adversary" for arnlod, similar to sergio or lou, even in pump i they said theny needed a "villian" but lou didnt fit so he went more just "competition" to underdog babyface..
it wasnt out of norm so leroy may have been getting a push when he got injury bc he claims he didnt but would have used,,, then maybe that woulda brought him another levl combined with continued training.  theres arnolds competition, especially in the arms dept were central and key to physique and help him dominate for so long.   depending on how colbert chest along with upr and rest,,, he may have been the only threat arnold would have faced.

watching the joe weider vid and the way joe talkd about leroy seemd genuine and as if there was really something missd for whatever reasons.

He's a wise man, I suggest Wiggs light one up and listen to this man talk. "I would drink hot horse urine, if I knew it built muscle" -Leroy.

Well, his 2nd wife did the "I'm not satisfied in life bit" and the "It's not you, but me", typical of babyboomers. Then he got with a fine thick chica who was 25 yrs his junior, of course after 10 yrs of being together, they finally got married and she split after 2 yrs of marriage and opened up her own fitness place...she was using Ol' Leroy...and he couldn't see it... I must admit he does have a fine eye towards the ladies...although, his mother told him about Sylvia.
Here is his 2nd wife

Here is his 3rd wife, Sylvia

And here he is, with her, notice he is wearing the same type of clothing from the early to mid 70's and it's the 1980's.

The 1990's and he's still wearing those 70's zipper-velvety shirs, with dress pants and shoes...She was running game on Leroy...
