Which BRIC Country Shall Rule The Future?

  Which of the BRIC countries will be superpower of the 21st Century, India, Brazil, China and Russia? My bet is on China to surpass the U.S economically withing the next decades and militarilly by 20600 or so. The breakdown:

  Russia:

  Pros - Large incredible oil reserves. Highly educated population with a large number of doctoral scientists and engineer.

  Cons - Terrible climate. Very poor in agriculture and other natural resources.

  India:

  Pros - Very good weather with abundant humidity. A highly educated elite with great engineers and technician.

  Cons - Lots of cons, unfortunately. A caste society where social mobility is impossible for all purposes. Although having a highly competent elite, the average Indian is illiterate and due to the caste system, they have no motivation to advance in life. Ok.

  China:


  Pros - Many pros of course. Gigantic population with the highest average intelligence of any people except for Jews. Homogenous society where the Han ethnic group rules. Not only are the Chinese highly intelligent, they have the most formidable work ethic of any group. China is rich in many natural resources as well.

  Con - Even though it is rich in many resources, China is poor in oil and has a very arid claimate with terrible agriculture. Non-salt water is a problem as well. It is ruled by a Marxist totalitarian regime which won't allow the free market to show it's full potential because it fears the loss of control.

  Brazil:

  Pros - It has some pros. Good climate with lots of rain. Brazil has the World's biggest sweet water reserve and due to it's claimate and rainfall is the World's foremost agriculture superpower. Very rich in many natural resources.

  Cons Brazil has a population of low intelligence and very indolent that it mostly ignorant illiterate. Although rich in oil, the oil is in deep seas and very hard to extract.

  Overall, China is the best. It has the territory, population size and the very high intelligence to be a superpower of the World. And even though it's climate is not the best and it lacks lots of the oil, it's climate is not as bad as that of Russia, and it still has many resource to compensate the poor agriculture.

My five cents are on Brazil and India, as they are the only true democracies among the BRIC countries.

Brazil will feed the world in the future, as it has the most knowledge in farming, the most efficient food production, the right climate and in the Sierra almost unlimited unused land that can be used for farming without even touching the Amazon rain forest.

India because despite all its poverty problems is a democracy, is slowly but surely building a middle class and has very good schools for that middle class.

Unless China undergoes radical political reform, it is likely to politically and economically implode at some stage. Its economy is becoming more and more complex - soon too complex to be centrally planned.

Russia is not an economic powerhouse, it just has lots of oil, gas and other natural resources.

China is not as rich in resources---that is why they are trying to grab Afghan and African mineral mines... Also if the Chinese are so smart, why is it that they ignore Intellectual Property Laws, and are the copycat kings, especially with cars. They are sitting on a big bubble, economically, and there is a HUGE gap between the rich and the poor, that will exacerbate a situation in which there might be a Civil War...Also, they will never really get inot a foreign war, because they need their Army to keep all the people in check. And Chinese men, now are feeling the brunt of not having enough women, due to female children not being valued and being aborted, and the 1 child law that was implemented. They ignore or don't have environmental laws, and don't care too much about the population. Also, they want the US to be the police man, you can't be top dog, unless you champion the rights of others and step in when there is a bad situation. In short, one must be a bastion of that is good in the world, which the US still is.

  what has being a democracy got to with anything? The countries that grew the most were dictatorships - think Cingapure and Taiwan. China reached the apex of it's development when Shi Huang Di unified China and turned it into a dictatorship. This was the Han Dynasty. Rome reached it's apex during the reign of Octavius, when he finished Republic and became emperor. A democratic system does not garantee greater economic development. I agree, though, that scientific development is better in democracies because science advances more with freedom of scientists to study and do what they pleasee.

  Agriculture can make a country rich, that is true. Chile is rich as is New Zealand. But agriculture does not make a country a very great power. A country becomes a superopower with technology which allows it to produce the most pricy goods and the most powerful military hardware.

  Doubt it. You don't need democracy to make an economy grow. It is doubtful that China will become a scientific superpower with the government controlling everything, but it can become the World's biggest economic power.

basically the concept is that virtually every western state is facing a Negative population growth; all the european states are and have been for a while declining in population, esp.their native ethnic populations. this is due to modern cultural influences specifically the empowerment of women which makes many of them not want kids to focus on 'career' ( ) and a general culture of instant gratification and living for oneself in the moment instead of having families etc etc...

the consequences are that there are 2 choices for the west: start increasing (native) populations again by having families, or become totally dependent on foreign Immigrants to support your economy/nation (which in effect leads to the downfall of the western states)

so in other words, Russia (and europe, and the US) will in theory only decline in power over the next decades as their native populations dwindle.

  China will surpass the U.S economically in another decade. Militarilly, it will take much longer for China to surpass the U.S. And yes, a country only becomes the true superpower when it produces the most technologically sophisticated products and has the most powerful military. Making Ipods, T.V sets and sneakers does not a superpower make. You need to lead in technology, because technology is power and the World's most powerful country is the one that has the most advanced technologies.
