I'm not saying it does. I find it funny that those who wrap themselves in the cloak of science are basing their idea of creation on something very similar to most religions.

Nothing->Bang->Something.
Science= explains things through studies of trial and error.

Religion= make up a fairytale claim that a god created everything.

Unbelievable how many morons believes in religion in todays enlightened society.

The bible used to say the earth is flat. Do you believe that to?

OK..can you enlighten me as to what studies/info/lab results explain the matter state just before and just after the Big Bang?
Can you enlighten me as to the theory/lab results on the state of the matter prior and it's entry point into existence?
And can you also enlighten me as to what Bible verse says the earth is flat?

The answer is "yes".

I suspected you might have been saying this. Just wanted to clarify. These are matters of faith. What we do know is that stuff is here.  So either it was always here or a creator that always existed created it. As Carl Sagan use to say, it's just a matter of one step. Where you start out on and begin. So say one of our spacecrafts finally reached another solar system and another planet and, say, they discover a calculator. We can surmise that either someone created that calculator or that somehow, through the random concussions in the universe, the molecules bonded together purely by chance to create that calculator.

No, not Pascal. I was thinking of Pascal's Wager and subsequently edited my post.

Pascal's wager is good too.  ;)

No I can't. Neither can you.

Can you enlighten me as to the theory/lab results on the state of the matter prior and it's entry point into existence?
Lab results? It's a theory. And the most widely accepted so far. How can you prove something like the origin of universe with a lab experiment.... It has been shown through studies of the universe, stars etc. that the universe is constantly expanding. Simplified that leads you to believe that the universe started from nothing at some point and started to expand. Anyways I don't know the full theory on it.

And can you also enlighten me as to what Bible verse says the earth is flat?
In the old testament there are quotes that refers to "the ends of the earth". This was ofcourse removed in the new testament not to sound to silly.

Either way if you know history you will know that it was found that the earth is spherical through scientific studies. Before that people assumed the earth is flat.

In that vein, religion is a "theory" too. Why piss on one and not the other?

And can you also enlighten me as to what Bible verse says the earth is flat?

That's a huge stretch. Sorry.

Either way if you know history you will know that it was found that the earth is spherical through scientific studies. Before that people assumed the earth is flat.

And I wasn't talking about doppler shift/expanding. That's established. I never mentioned doppler shift, expanding, blue shift, red shift, or anything of that nature.

I was talking big bang.

You're talking billions of years after big bang.

Not my point of concern.
The answer is "yes".

Max, I dont agree with you, but I could respect your opinion until that last part. You think [/i] [/b] that "the ends of the earth" indicates that the people who wrote the Bible thought the earth was flat, and that such a reference was removed in the new testament to correct this inaccuracy? Are you retarded?
Maybe you know more than your average internet genius about science ( or you passed a high school level physics class), but clearly you are braindead when it comes to history and theology. Just a question genius, these scientific studies you speak of that conclude the earth is round--- were they conducted by the time the new testament was written? Do you know when it was written?  ::)

To know what happened before you have to study what happened after.. Either way scientists are not sure of what happened.

Ofcourse creationists are sure that a god snapped his fingers and created everything including earth humans etc.. everything lol  ::)

Ignorance is a bliss I guess.

Science= explains things through studies of trial and error.

Religion= make up a fairytale claim that a god created everything.

Unbelievable how many morons believes in religion in todays enlightened society.

The bible used to say the earth is flat. Do you believe that to?

I always find it curious that atheist/agnostics always resort to ad hominem attacks. Often as the first resort.

These morons included every President of the United States as well as people like William F. Buckley, Immanuel Kant, Albert Einstein, T.S. Eliot, Winston Churchill, Max Planck, Isaac Newton, Rene Decartes, Galileo..., even Charles Darwin was a Unitarian.

Morons indeed.
