Who has seen Ronnie Coleman in person ?

Bodybuilding is an ILLUSION AT TIMES .. Shawn in his prime, Phil Heath, Benfatto, Labrada, Zane, etc... But when it comes to Coleman, there is NO illusion. Rumor is that in prson he was super massive. So let us hear who seemed almost regular in clothing up and close and who seemed larger than life.


PS: I met and talked to Sonny Schmidt and Clairmonte in person off season both. Charles was massive.

some friends of mine have seen Jay and Ronnie and apparently, Jay doesn't even look in the same league as Ronnie when "in person"

Seen him twice in Person - UNREAL!!!  HUUUUUGE is the only word I can use to describe him!!

I live pretty close to Ronnie, Branch, and Johnnie.

I've seen Ronnie numerous times back in 03 and 04 leading up to the Olympia, which was his biggest and heaviest. In person he was UNBELIEVABLE!! Pictures don't do him justice.

No not ronnie ...But I served this dude a soda pop when i just got out of high school and worked at round table pizza in culver city, ca. ... he came in twice once with a hot azz white girl, ordered a half sprit half Orange soda... and then again with a white gay guy and ordered the same drink, but this time the white guy said to chris, DUDE YOUR GOING TO LOSE YOUR ABS, where chris proceeded to lift his shirt up for the white dude and flex his abs for him at the pizza joint

I have seen him in person several times since he first went pro and even judged him in the hvy wt class in the nationals ( the yr he was selected for the world team and passed the drug test) he never won his class at the NPC nationals , he got his card by winning the hvy wt worlds in '91.
Ronnie was the most impressive BB ever, to see in the gym or just walking around.

Joel Stubbs is also incredible in person, really, really wide at over 6 ft tall.

Here he is at this years olympia.....

NO ONE has arms with that type of granite muscle and vascularity.

Jay's arms look like Balloons next to Ron.

I'd be startled seeing this in person.

I worked out with him, well, in the same gym several times with him in the mid 80's in Dallas. The man was enormous, unlike anything I've ever seen before or since. At that time he wasn't at all like now or in the 00's but his arms definitley were! Totally incredible. It was a little gym called Living Well... Maybe someone here knows of it. Someone used to drop him off and pick him up in this old beat up like Datsun B210 or something with a Dominos sign on top. I think he delivered pizza in that thing if I am not mistaken but the guy was friendly and approachable and unmistakenly destined for greatness. Re: other post, yes it was totally startling watching him curl 65's like they were 15's. Those arms, have to be the best ever!

when i first met ronnie it was in 2002 at golds venice he was weeks from the olympia, 318 lbs. 7% bodyfat........very huge, bigger than any bber i ever knew or met, once u seen ronnie like that, then u know what big is!

I've seen him probably more than anyone on this board minus Bobert and maybe Yaroni....I've seen him in 99 in the 250s...offseason in 320s...at his biggest in 04 and of course post retirement...Ronnie is huge and ripped from every angle no doubt about it....I've seen and spoken with Ronald about 10-15 times between the Olympia, guest posings etc...

Every time I saw him, I was actually de-motivated cause I thought I'll never look like this guy.

in their prime Ronnie easily makes Jay look like a second tier bodybuilder.

Just saw Ronnie Coleman a half hour ago here at the NPC Nationals in Atlanta.  Was going to Gold's Gym here a few minutes from the hotel to work out.  He is in great shape, and still looks huge.  Like he may compete one day somewhere, although he is denying it now.   

And still quite popular.  On the way to the Hard Rock Cafe for a bite to eat (myself, not Ronnie), Ronnie got stopped three times for photographs from fans.   Ronnie graciously took the pics, then headed into Gold's Gym.

I beg to differ, he lives in my neck of the woods, doubt you seen him that much.

As I posted in another thread, I saw Lee Haney up close at Gold's Venice a few days after the 88' Olympia. Lee was so big, thick, and dense it was crazy. I can only imagine what Ronnie in his prime looked like in person!

Freakiest human i have ever seen in person. Yates still the better bodybuilder, but for shock and awe, no one comes near big Ron.

A friend of mine talked to ronnie at some expo or something back in 2005 i think

he said the first thing he noticed was how big and thick ronnie's butt was..... :-\

the sad thing is, he meant it as a bodybuilding related comment

Ronnie and Jay are both MASSIVE in person, don't anybody mislead you.  At natls one year Jay sat one row in front of me and some friends and he literally had to use 2 folding chairs and his arms just looked unreal.
