Clueless. Utterly clueless. businesses are in business to make money and deliver products to consumers at a price conumers are willing to pay and afford.
Production costs in the USA are too high due to govt regulation, mandates, etc and availability of friendlier places overseas. Until we get rid of the EPA, unions, crazy tort laws, etc, jobs will keep going overseas.
But 33386, the only way to bring production costs stateside down to levels where it can compete with China, would require paying American workers the equivalent of the wages paid to the Chinese. Can you really see paying an American factory worker the equivalent of $5 or $10 a week... or whatever it is?
The only way I see the manufacturing coming back is only until AFTER the USD plummets to the equivalent of a rock, and the Yuan is permitted to rise to it's true value, ...and the Chinese start manufacturing goods in America using American workers they can pay with peanuts, and export back to China to sell domestically.
