Bob supports men's figure

Why Bob?  I don't think it was as popular at the Olympia expo as you think.  Now to award IFBB Pro cards?  I know the idea is to have a little of something for everyone and try to increase ticket sales, but this is ridiculous.

Gotta be honest, I wasnt on board originally, but the response was pretty damn good. I do believe it may be better suited for the EXPO stage...but we need to expand and move with the times.  Whats the difference if its there or not?

I think its a good idea. Classical bodybuilding (like in eu) is something I would have liked to sre happen before though but oh well.

As it stands now, the issue is one of total time for NON bodybuilding stuff to be on stage.
The figure and bikini took up about 3 hrs at the night finals at the nationals BEFORE the first male BB hit the stage.
If that format continues or gets longer with the male figure, count me out when it comes to buying finals tickets.
I will contine to go to the expos and bodybuilding judging however.
I have NO interest in buying a ticket to see a show that has 2/3  NON bodybuilding divisions.
It is the huge % of the contest time that is the issue, NOT that they have "some" figure or bikini. It is too much and getting worse with the men doing it next yr.
Imagine going to an NHL hockey game where they spend 3 hrs doing a figure skating show BEFORE they drop the puck.
I respect you Bob, but this is something I won't support, sorry.

It is not classic physique , not even close.
The official word is they call in "men's physique" and they will wear "board shorts" and legs won't really be judged.
It is the male equivilent of bikini beach bodies being in stage to compete.

The problem is that Olympia promoters have a way of working these newly formed divisions onto the main stage.  If you want to see men's pre-judging, you already have to sit through the women's show Friday night (which got longer with the additon of bikini).  And even if it doesn't make it's way to the main stage on the pro level, imagine going to an amateur show where there are 300 bikini girls and 100 figure guys.  I don't see why it's necessary to award "pro" status for every money making opportunity the NPC pursues.  I mean really, Mr. Figure Olympia??
