Thanking god would be pointless (for me) but maby I should call up the butchers? and the the farm where the meat came from? and thank them?
Oh snap thats right, when I PAY for my food, some of that money goes to them! So thats the "thank you". =)

do you thank god everytime you use tapwater?
Well, your ancestors were polythesistic and or pagans, so pray to the Sun God for helping your food grow, pray to the Rain God for giving the food water to grow...

I was giving a reason, you could pray to the Explanation God for giving you a reason and explanation---then smoke a good one in "his" honor.

To constantly having to thank and love someone that you ultimately fear is the definition of sadomasochism.

who wrote the bible? someone need to track down his relatives? There has to be an author to a book that hundreds of millions of people follow? And even die for? and base their life on?

Anyone can  believe in anything the want but thats the key BELIEVE not CLAIM that you know.

Or do you just dig right in, forgetting to thank the Lord Almighty for that food you are about to eat...

I/we say grace before almost every meal (unless I forget).

Why not thank the poeple that MADE the food if you're gonna thank someone?  ::)

Swede do you think that the animals, plants, seeds etc. you eat (and smoke ;D ) come from animals/plants/etc. that have always existed?  If not, what is your theory regarding from where these things come?

Ultimately they never popped into existence, it's always been there. At least that's the leading theory. Next.

Do you have a link to that theory (I don't know the name)?  Did they exist in today's form or do you embrace a type of Macro Evolution?

Well I was referring to what's known as the big bang theory, a singularity where all the matter sprung out from. The concept of time doesn't really apply to singularities. That's where matter is thought to have come from. Read "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawkings for more details.

Now, evolution is not even disputable so I thought you were referring to the origins of matter. But maybe you were not?

Yes I was talking about the origins of matter and life.  I think we talked in another thread w/YngieRhoads about something coming from nothing but that there is really no such thing as true "nothing" ...for instance, quantum vacuum = not nothing... where does the quantum vacuum come from?

I don't dispute Micro Evolution but I do dispute Macro Evolution.  Do you have any links or explanations I could read regarding "proof" of Macro Evolution?

That's because you don't understand what the word "fear" means in the Bible.

If you really believe this i feel very sorry for you.

Luck determines some of the most important things in life. You are not religious; if it isn't a deity that gave you all the things you have, what then was it? Where we are born, the people we meet; all luck. It's undeniable. I do consider myself lucky in some respects but I know it is fortune I have to thank and not some god or gods.

Until you find the sole ancestor of both man and ape, the evolution of "man", not some bacteria, will always be disputed.

The big bang theory is also disputed because nothing has been proven that matter can exist by itself. Matter couldn't just appear. Where did it come from? If it was from a singularity, how did it form and from where did it come from?  Hmmmm, sounds much like "where did God come from if he really exists?"  Lets see some proof, not the opinions of a mute quadriplegic.

If you believe in God and he does not exist, you have lost nothing.

To not believe and him exist you have lost everything.

Each to their own though.

I do not believe through fear anyway.

I genuinely believe in him for a number of personal reasons.

Have you ever read about fatima Deicide? It is quite interesting. Similarly with Lourdes.

Lourdes makes me really sad; all those sick people filled with false hope, thinking there is something there that will help them.  :-\

Hope keeps people alive. When you are at rock bottom at times all some people have is hope. I for one would not take hope away from someone who literally is all they have to live for.

Many ahve been cured at Lourdes. There are so many pair of crutches etc left at the pool where they were miraculously cured.
