« on: October 20, 2010, 12:38:44 AM »

It's sled weight's 280kg/560lb without any plates, and you find it in the Mayor's Gym, Helsinki Finland. Made by http://www.hotmilling.fi/, home of the Kraftwerk- gym equipments...You can easily load 3000lb on it if you need to ;D

Try squatting.

Warm up is gonna be a bitch. But then again getbiggers warm up with no less than 700lbs with post mortem stiff legs  ;D

alot of people mechanically squat poorly. i regularly easily outpressed a training partner of mine who was on the national powerlifting team and could nearly double my best squat.

we often did deep 800lb+ sets for reps.

this isnt a brag, its reality and thats why seeing pros do deep 20 rep sets with 1300lbs isnt mindboggling.

id be surprised if usain bolt couldnt leg press 1000lb.

Maybe big Ron would have bought one in his prime.

I remember how he loaded the press with thousands of pounds at Metroflex Gym in his best ever dvd 'Cost of Redemption'...

I think Vince Basile invented this machine, but i think that most getbiggers could use the whole thing to benchpress it.

I believe it was build 1991 or 92. Not 1891, as it look like. It has some patina on it, some rust and it is worn by use. It is build like some railroad apparatus with thick steel. Not invented by Vince Basile, his inventions are far more complicated...

And yes, leg press with this thing with all plates what you can hang on it, is hard core. Do not forget that there has been plenty of Finnish guys winning medals in those world strongest man contest. At least Riku Kiri and Jouko Ahola has used this in their workouts, when it was in Gold's Gym Finland. It is one of the kind because in the average gyms there isn't people strong enough to use it.

If leg sleds didn't bother my knees so bad that thing looks like it would be awesome. Guess I'm "stuck" with squats.  ;D

The big gym that looks like a warehouse is Elitefts's company gym, just youtube Elitefts and you'll see tons of video from it.

One thing that always makes me jealous of Nordic gyms is the number of high end bumpers and calibrated plates they have handy. It's not uncommon to see 2 grand worth of Leokos or Eleiko plates just out in the open per station.
