Bullshit, this WAS his karma.  :o

NO Donkey Kong, you have much to learn about Samsara and damma.  In that type of buddhism, they believe in this ritual after enlightment.  Whether this monk had reached it is neither here nor there.

Fat Panda you know nothing about karma-When people say "Karma's a Bitch" they are being ignorant.  Karma that happens in this life is a result of what you did in your previous life.  So if you do wrong now, you won't pay for it until next life.  People blame surroundings, people, etc.etc. for all there misdoings and shortcomings while it is a direct result of there last life. Everyone gets what's coming to them.

war is the only way Americans learn geography :D
Lol you should say learning place names. Most american's could never spot vietnam, iraq, and afghanistan on the map.

You cannot win a war against an army that is made up of the people and who mingle with teh people. The British army could not defeat the IRA, the Brits failed in Afghanistan in the 19th Century. America failed in Vietnam and I also believe they will fail in Afghan and Iraq.

That's because it's not a war, it's an invasion.  The only way to conquer is to decimate the people, however this can't be done because the un is watching america's every move. Iraq was the stupidest fucking thing in existance. All you gotta do is look at any country in africa and it becomes very simple. mixed populations can't have a democracy. It just don't work. The only reason europe cleaned it's act up was because all the german's were removed from eastern europe, all the jews were dead, and the rest were taking care of by the Soviet Union.

perhaps you have mistaken me for donkeykong. i did not use the term karmas a bitch in this thread or context.

i know a lot about buddhism, an awful lot, and i know exactly what karma is and how it works.

perhaps you should search through some of my posts. i have posted many interesting things about the topic.

just to advise you - you are wrong about your understanding of karma. there are different types of karma, some that you pay back in this life, some you are paying for from previous lives and some rewards you get in this life and the next. it is not as black and white as you have to pay back in the next life. you may be paying back from 3 or more lives ago. it has no set rules.

i hope this has been of some help to you in your quest for enlightenment, i wish you well on your journey.

Mr.Panda, you have a very healthy ego.  Lose the "I" on your journey.  Just like Christianity, there are different offshoots of buddhism.  True buddhism only reflects karma from previous lives.  We are forced into this life BY karma-that is the reason you were born, that is why we are obliged to pursue this life to the best of our ability.  It is what you can call a "Karmic DNA" that creates and disignates life's challenges.  Mr. Panda, you need to know you arrived here on the scene/mother earth full of errors that need to be rectified.  All of us carry a long, long, long history of mistake making.  This is what your present life offers you-remedy of your past mistakes.  So there is alot to forgive and acknowledge.  This is what is called a Karma-driven life. If  whatever you believe helps you on your path to that overly used word called Nirvanna, then be it.  As long as you get there full of peace and love to all mankind, then it really doesn't matter what you believe.

Remember that age old phrase;  What did you do BEFORE enlightenment?  I lifted weights and drank protein shakes.  What did you do AFTER enlightenment?  I lifted weights and drank protein shakes.

Good luck.

I often think about that actually. Hes gotten his mind into a place where hes just accepted killing himself, and not just by going "BOOM" but by fucking BURNING do death without making a sound.

in-fucking-credible

didn't it actually result in something good also?

the mind is the most powerful thing ever.
probably consumed a mind altering substance before-hand

I don't see how anybody could say that's stupid.

You would have to be a complete meathead dumbfuck to not appreciate the awesomeness of what that monk did.

What was awesome about it?  It didn't change one single thing, therefore, it was not only stupid, it was utterly pointless.  If he wanted to make a difference, he would have done volunteer work in a hospital caring for victims of the war.
