Are we getting more conservative.
« on: October 25, 2010, 07:44:36 AM »
It seems to me the last 45 years have been an era of hyperliberalism. We've eroded our culture, past the breaking point, we can't maintain a stable population, we've overspent ourselves into oblivion, and computers have taking over our lives and turned us into a bunch of fat computer nerds.

I usually just assume my conservatism comes from getting older, but I'm starting to think more and more I'm just a product of my time.

FYI yes I can't stand  Obama obessed rightwingers, however has nothing to do with my politics.

No - its just that as more and more people realize the effects of liberal policies, the more horrified they become and naturally move to the right.

Just like Winston Churchill said  - if you are not liberal at 20y/o you have no heart - if you are not conservative by 40 y/o - you have no brain.

I think your missing the point over the last 45 years youth media has made it  very cool to be liberal, partying in debt etc, it feels like were due for a backlash.

Well I have always been on the conservative side, guess it was my up bringing. My parents instilled a good work ethic in me and made sure that I knew the only person you can depend on 100% of the time is yourself.

Same here my parents were liberals but instilled very conservative valules in me, in terms of money and health.

It just seems being modern is all about over freedom in all ways, drugs/food/computer usage/ credit cards/ education/ and the list goes on. It worked great for a while but it really can't go no further.

Well I think my gen 87's are the start. I mean can't imagine us going any futher. Just flick on the news. Muslims, debt, overeducation, mcdonalds abortions, and drugs are the legacy were inheriting.

Were old enough to see the change in lifestyle that the internet brang, and at the same time young enough to care about where were headed.

Yeah but this is whats creating the backlash. We's all collectively spent 50k each to listen to this babble and now were left with a bitter taste when we start having to foot the bill for these fags.

"hyperliberalism" is to blame for fat computer nerds?

Well I mean more in the sense of a lifestyle where you can get everything you want whenever you want(freedom).

Knowledge and Entertainment have become worthless.

and so you're saying "hyperliberalism" is responsible for... to much freedom :-\  The ability of people in America to be instantly gradified.  And knowledge and entertainment are worthless because of libs?  lol... ok...  You wouldn't blame the corporations for any of that, but rather libs?

I don't mean just "liberals" I mean the liberalization of media/credit/education/content. Conservative use credits and eat fast food aswell. I'm not on the partisan attack here. We've all had a part to play.  But I agree with what your saying.
