Nice Election Site - for stats
« on: October 25, 2010, 10:28:05 PM »

Especially when I see numbers like that! The Republicans will take back the house hopefully, and then, maybe, there will be hope again after 2 years of debacles with the Democrats controlling everything.

I agree - have seen a lot of them - until it comes to the actual election here in the US.

Then you go to wherever you can get stats in real time fast?

CNN web site?
California's government web site?

What is the best REAL TIME website for results by state, etc on election night?

you righties are a little odd.  We were using realclearpolitics like crazy here during the last election but most conservatives preferred to pick a single poll they liked over the averages of RCP.  The practice continued with Obama's approval rating.  single polls like Rasmussen were preferable to RCP... What changed?  Rassy not looking as peachy this year?

Just kinda funny...

really? 240 loved going to RCP for stuff.  can you prove he prefers to focus on the best poll to make his case these days?

as far as the tables turning, really, best case argument here is that both sides do it when it's in their favor.

as far as nailing me for the dems sucking, I can't stand either party for the last year and a half.

RCP is great because they have all the polls in one space.

Everytime I would mention that Rasmussen showed low approval ratings for Obama, the people who voted for Obama would mention Gallup. For some reason, Gallup kept showing high approval ratings for Obama eventhough almost every single poll out there showed otherwise.

Now, that Gallup has come in line with the other polls, 240, nor any other delusional Obama supporter mentions Gallup or even opens a thread using its poll results.

But, yeah, RCP is a great site.

Gallup is showing a tidal wave of epic porporations.  Notice 240 has been silent lately?

I remember quite a few including myself mentioning the RCP average as a better indicator so for you to say "everytime" is not the way I remember it going down here.

The only problem I see with the RCP average is that it gets a bit skewed by by some of the far outlier polls.

You can't deny that it's still going to give a better number than just taking one of the outer polls.  I remember this argument being made before here and a bunch of righties were dead set on staying focused on Rasmussen.  Now I remember why we started pointing out gallup and shit during that time.  It was because you guys were insisting on one poll, Rasmussen as being the poll to look at so I remember the counter to that was to say, well gallup or this other poll shows different.  Other than that RCP was popular during the election and after for a while here.

You remembering anything is a major miracle. EVERYTIME I was countered by 240 and a few others with the Gallup results. If it wasn't from Gallup, no credence was given to it. That's a fact.

Now, it seems Gallup doesn't exist.

RAS was a little closer than most in 2008.

After election. In recent months regarding Obama's approval rating.

I am talking recently. In the past 6 months regarding Obama's work performance/approval rating. Sorry, if that was not clear.

gallup was brough up at time then because you guys insisted on posting Rasmussen like it was the end of the story.  We were saying RCP is a better picture.  Later on I'll try to dig up some threads with some of the arguments around that.  Not sure what's up with the insult, remembering different than you is not attacking you.

well that could be the mix up.  I was talking about during the election and the months starting Obama's presidency.

Never mind. We are talking about 2 different times. I myself never even brought up any Poll during the election because I knew Obama was going to win. Sorry, if I insulted you.

The thing I like about RCP is that you can see how they arrive at their averages and select each poll to see the internals.
